Busy Philipps Comforts Michelle Williams On Anniversary Of Heath Ledger's Death

The Cougar Town star is always there for her friends.

Busy Philipps took the time to remember the late Heath Ledger on Monday, Jan. 22, 2018, the 10-year anniversary of his death. But she didn't do it alone. As E! News reports, Philipps traveled to visit her best friend Michelle Williams, who was in a relationship with Ledger after the pair met on the set of the 2005 film Brokeback Mountain. They later split in 2007, after welcoming daughter Matilda into the world in October 2005.

Philipps shared a photo with Williams on Instagram, with overlying text that read, "It's ok."

In her Instagram Story, Philipps posted videos of herself crying in a car, taken before she met up with Williams. With an MGMT song playing on the radio, Philipps, fighting tears, told her followers, "I was just driving and I was thinking about my friend Heath, who died 10 years ago, and this song came on, 'Time to Pretend.'"

She explained, "It came out after he had passed away and I remember when it came out, because I thought...it made me think of him. I just thought he would have liked this song. And for some reason, I just, every time I hear this song...it's weird."

Philipps then increased the radio's volume, writing, "Just turn it up I guess?"

As People previously reported, Ledger passed away on Jan. 22, 2008, as a result of an accidental drug overdose. He was just 29 years old.
