Ron Howard's Kids: Bryce Dallas Howard Isn't His Only Famous Child
Ron Howard has one of the longest, most prolific careers in Hollywood, and the actor-turned-director has passed his talents onto his children. Howard had parents who were in the entertainment industry and was thrown into acting when he was a baby, per Harvard Business Review. "If they needed a baby for a play, I'd be the baby. I didn't have a say. By the time I was four, I was actually acting, and I enjoyed it," he recalled. Howard's talents eventually landed him on "The Andy Griffith Show," and he would go on to star in "Happy Days" as the lovable Richie Cunningham.
Howard soon became one of Hollywood's biggest directors, and his eldest daughter Bryce Dallas Howard has followed in his footsteps. Although her father is a multi-award winner, she proved her talent and rose to fame with her roles in "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," and "The Help," per IMDb. While the "Jurassic World" star is well-known for her acting chops, many may not know that Howard's other children are talented in their own right as well.
Ron Howard's daughter Paige is also a successful actor
Fans know Bryce Dallas Howard as Ron Howard's thespian offspring, but his younger daughter Paige Howard has had many roles under her belt as well. Ron and his wife Cheryl Howard welcomed twins Paige and Jocelyn Howard in 1985, per HollywoodLife. While Jocelyn likes to remain private, Paige has proved that she is not afraid of the spotlight. She attended the NYU Tisch School of the Arts and made her acting debut in "Medium," per IMDb. She then went on to land her first big screen role in the hit 2009 movie "Adventureland."
Paige also had roles in "90210" and "Virgin Alexander," but 2013's "The Employer" was her first thriller film. "It was one that I was excited to explore but also extremely nervous," she told Star Watch Media at the red carpet premiere. However, Paige had nothing to be nervous about, as her role earned her Best Supporting Actress at the Los Angeles Movie Awards that year, per Amo Mama.
Paige credits her dedication to the craft to her mom and dad. "My parents would constantly remind us, 'This is no piece of cake. You need to really love acting to do it.' They didn't champion it at five years old, 'Take up the family business!'" she shared during an interview with Mr. Media. While her younger brother never got into acting, his talents lie in a completely different field.
Ron Howard's son Reed is a professional golfer
Ron Howard's famous red hair was passed down to his children and it did not skip his only son, Reed Howard. In 2018, Ron shared a side-by-side snap of himself next to Reed and the resemblance was uncanny. Despite looking just like his dad, Reed did not inherit Ron's acting bug. Instead, he is a professional golf player and has his own YouTube channel called Reed Howard Golf.
Reed is not just a golfer, but an inventor and entrepreneur as well. He invented a product called the Steadhead that helps keep the head from moving during a swing. "I have had my fair share of swing difficulties, as we all have. The Steadhead was a product I simply made for myself to help improve my game. As soon as I thought to make it, and clipped the original prototype to my hat, my swing was never the same," he wrote on his website. With such talented children, Ron has much to be proud of.
