He might have gotten his start by covering the works of other artists, but MattyBRaps appears to have moved away from performing covers over time, releasing original songs instead.

In an Instagram post, MattyBRaps shared that he had made the cover of the 2023 Influencer Edition of the Atlanta, Georgia, magazine "Empower Atlanta," published in February 2023. The cover gives his real name, Matthew Morris, more prominence than his stage name, suggesting that he could be transitioning away from using the "MattyBRaps" moniker as he ages.

In addition to building his own career focused on original music, MattyBRaps has used his official YouTube channel to highlight the work of younger talents who are looking to follow in his footsteps.
He appears to devote many of his YouTube uploads to children's covers and original songs featuring children who are around the age that MattyBRaps was when he found YouTube stardom, with these children being credited by their first names alone. MattyBRaps himself features in some of these videos, such as in a music video for a song titled "One Way Out".
As listed on YouTube as well as in the biography of his verified Facebook page, MattyBRaps operates his business ventures through the corporation MattyB LLC. By all indications, MattyBRaps seems to be living a successful life and continuing his work in the music industry, just without the same level of fame as he had at the height of his YouTube popularity.
