What Ginger Zee's Husband Really Does For A Living

Getting ready for work may include eating breakfast, brushing your teeth, and maybe even tuning into "Good Morning America." Of course, one of the most important parts of the newscast is hearing about the weather you may face that day. And if you're an avid viewer of "GMA," you are more than familiar with Ginger Zee.

Zee is the chief meteorologist on the morning news show and has allowed viewers into her life throughout her years on television. The broadcast journalist has especially been open about her relationship with her husband, Ben Aaron. According to Yahoo, the couple first met through mutual friends in 2012 during a charity event. Zee was hesitant about pursuing a relationship, and it took some persuading before the two officially went on a date.

It's a good thing that Aaron was persistent, because after the first date, the two completely hit it off. In 2014, two years after the first meeting, the couple tied the knot. Their love only grew as they welcomed two children into their lives. Zee is still madly in love with Aaron as she shared a sweet tribute to her husband on Instagram. She said, "As we grow together I find myself looking at him with more and more admiration, adoration and pure love with every day that passes." Aaron continuously has supported Zee throughout her career, and it has left viewers intrigued as to what Aaron does for a living. So, here's everything we know.

Ben Aaron is a fellow journalist

It's no wonder Ginger Zee and Ben Aaron hit it off, because Aaron is actually a fellow journalist. According to Married Biography, Aaron got his start in journalism when he was just 18 years old. Obtaining his Bachelor of Arts degree in media at Emerson College, Aaron knew exactly what he wanted to do from the very beginning, per PIX 11. He began his professional career working for Radio Disney as a host in New York. But seeing as California is known as the entertainment capital of the world, Aaron decided to move to the Sunshine State to further his career, per Married Biography.

During his time in California, the journalist landed a series of different roles as a reporter. Aaron worked for KSWB TV and NBC Universal at WNBC. Aaron even became a talk show host for "Crazy Talk" with Tanisha Thomas until 2016. Although he held different positions as a journalist, none of them truly stuck. Despite moving to different locations to pursue job opportunities, Aaron ended up back in New York. It's unclear when he made the move back to the East Coast state, but seeing as Zee's career was based in New York, it was sure to make the decision easier. Aaron was eventually able to land another journalistic role with PIX 11. Since 2020, he has been a part of the morning news team as a reporter.

Ben Aaron's former talk show with Kellie Pickler

Ben Aaron has had some interesting jobs, but one that has to stick out to him is his talk show with Kellie Pickler. Married Biography reports that Aaron landed the co-host gig shortly after he left "Crazy Talk." He and Pickler kicked off their show, "Pickler & Ben," in 2017, and were ecstatic about the opportunity.

The show covered a plethora of topics, which included anything from entertainment news to cooking lessons. Viewers never truly knew what they would get when they tuned into "Pickler & Ben." After two seasons, however, the two co-hosts got the boot from the network, per One Country. Pickler and Aaron were devastated to hear their show was canceled and opened up to fans as to why there wouldn't be a third season. Aaron shared, "In the business of television if you don't air in L.A., New York, all these big, big cities, you don't make enough money. We were on track to do that and then new shows came out and prevented us from doing that."

As for Pickler, she was just grateful she had the opportunity to be part of the show. She said, "It has been such a blessing. So wonderful. We want to thank you all so much for being so supportive and putting up with Ben and myself every day." Even though the show ended, Aaron was able to return to television when he landed his position at PIX 11 News.
