What Happened To Clinton Kelly From What Not To Wear?

There have been some captivating shows that have come out of the TLC network, and one of those has been "What Not to Wear." Fashion lovers united to watch the premiere in 2003 as the show quickly garnered the attention of many. Stylists Clinton Kelly and Stacy London hosted the show as they transformed ordinary individuals with the ultimate makeover. What made this unlike any other fashion show was that viewers could nominate those who got to experience the $5000 transformation. Of course, what helped boost "What Not to Wear" to success was Kelly and London's outgoing personalities. The opinionated co-hosts were not scared to share how they felt about a style as they created the best looks for each person.

One by one, people got the makeover of a lifetime before the show officially ended in 2013. Kelly and London had been on the show for all 12 seasons, and since it was a huge part of their lives, they were devastated to let it go. Kelly joked to Rachael Ray, "Sometimes I joke that I gave that show the best years of my life ... I'm really proud of the work that Stacy and I have done on 'What Not to Wear.' We were sort of reality tv pioneers." Now that it has been several years since the show ended, many fans have wondered what Kelly has been up to since. Well, we are here to fill you in on all the details.

Clinton Kelly kept working in television

Clinton Kelly already had a gig lined up for himself following the finale of "What Not to Wear." Since 2011, the stylist was one of the co-hosts of the television show, "The Chew," per IMDb. Instead of fashion, "The Chew" focused all on food. Kelly even told The News & Observer he preferred "The Chew" to "What Not to Wear" because it was less stressful. He said, "'The Chew allows me to express all the things in my life I like — cooking, entertaining, style, making things — 'What Not to Wear' was my work, and 'The Chew' is more like how I live my life." It was obvious Kelly loved working on the food show, and his passion won him and the show two Emmys before it ended in 2018.

After "The Chew" ended in 2018, Kelly continued to stick to television. This time the stylist moved to the HGTV network, where he hosted the 2021 show "Self-Made Mansions." Kelly explained the show to Forbes, saying, "Self-Made Mansions is about people who have invented something, or maybe they're just entrepreneurs. They've thrown their entire lives into their idea, and have hit it big. Now, they're able to buy the house of their dreams." Kelly helped guide these individuals through the process of finding their dream homes. According to NextSeasonTV, they have yet to announce whether the show will be canceled or renewed. So in the meantime, Kelly has taken on another project.

Clinton Kelly is still open to styling

Despite all the projects Clinton Kelly has taken on, you can never take his love for fashion away. Because of this, Kelly is still open to styling people who seek advice. The "What Not to Wear" co-host created a website that allows people the opportunity to book a styling session with him. The stylist wrote, "I believe wholeheartedly that STYLE is a powerful form of nonverbal communication — what you wear tells the rest of the world something about you before you speak a word. And when you align your nonverbal message and your goals, you're one step closer to living the life you've always wanted."

Kelly's website gives fans a series of options with different pricing to get styling advice from him. The cheapest option starts at his style workshops, with tickets starting at $40. However, this isn't one-on-one with Kelly. It is in a group. The longer-term coaching is the most expensive styling option at $3,000, and people must apply to be considered. Kelly's new styling gig is somewhat similar to "What Not to Wear," but probably does not have as much added stress. Kelly's love for fashion is evident, and it seems like this work is what drives him.
