What We Know About Garcelle Beauvais' Son Oliver And His Messy Love Life

Garcelle Beauvais wears a lot of hats — actor, reality star, and mom. The "Coming To America" star first became a mom in 1991 when she welcomed son Oliver Saunders with her then-husband Daniel Saunders, whom she was married to for nine years between 1991 and 2000. In 2007, Beauvais welcomed twin sons Jax Joseph and Jaid Thomas Nilon, with Mike Nilon, her husband at the time. And while she has a number of achievements under her belt, Beauvais's most cherished title remains that of mother. "As much as I love what I have accomplished so far as an actress, I have to say that being a mom — with all of its challenges and rewards — has been the best role of my life," she gushed in a 2012 personal essay for People.

Unsurprisingly, Beauvais' successful career in entertainment has seemingly encouraged her kids to follow in her footsteps. In her People essay, Beauvais noted that Oliver was pursuing a rap career at the time and performing under the stage name Jayso Rose. Since then, however, Oliver seems to have also taken up an interest in reality television. In March 2023, the now-32-year-old made his debut on Bravo's "Vanderpump Rules."

Though still a newbie in the space, Saunders' appearance on "Vanderpump Rules" has piqued interest in who he is — and particularly, his love life.

Oliver Saunders got married in 2020

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Oliver Saunders and Samantha Saunders tied the knot in a low-key ceremony. "Mr & Mrs. Saunders! We said I do!" Samantha wrote in a celebratory Instagram post. "Who knows when we can have a wedding due to covid!? So we did the most important part of a wedding which is becoming one! Wedding reception after covid is over!" Though the pair managed to keep their relationship largely private, Samantha never held back on letting the world know how much Oliver means to her. "Oliver, you have changed my life for the better!" Samantha wrote in a January 2021 tribute. "Yes we didn't have the 'typical' wedding (which will come!) GOD put us together for a magical reason! Thank you @everythinbam for being you!"

And if you've ever wondered what their first meeting was like, Samantha says it was love at first sight. Taking to Instagram in June 2021, Samantha recounted their awkward first meeting and how they got talking. "Let me tell you about our love story!" she started. "We walked past each other, looked, and turned our heads! I said call me and he said I don't have your number!? we exchanged numbers and it was love at first sight! we have not left each other side since then!" Sadly, in September 2022, things took a turn for the couple, eventually leading to Oliver filing for divorce, as reported by The U.S Sun

Oliver Saunders was unfaithful while filming Vanderpump Rules

In September 2022, Samantha Saunders took to social media, calling Oliver out for infidelity. "I have been told to stay SILENT! DIVORCE — @iamoliversaunders since Oliver has started working at @vanderpumpparis he has disrespected me and my kids in every way possible," she wrote in an Instagram post. In the lengthy caption, Samantha referenced Oliver's make-out scene with Raquel Leviss on "Vanderpump Rules," adding that the pair also planned to go on a date while filming the show.

As "Vanderpump Rules" fans might recall, in the aforementioned make-out scene, Oliver told co-star Lala Kent he had separated from his wife — something Samantha claims was a lie. "We were together," Samantha told ET in a March 2023 interview. "I blame him. He was the married man. He chose to lie and cheat. Of course, I'm not happy with Raquel, but no, it's his fault all this happened! It's very traumatic for me." Leviss has also since gone on to reveal she had no idea Oliver was still married at the time of their kiss. "I would like to clarify that I did not know Oliver had a wife. He misled me," she said at the 2022 Bravocon, per Page Six.

As for Garcelle Beauvais, the now-56-year-old RHOBH star would rather be left out of the drama. "All sounds like a mess to me!" she told E! News. "It's a mess and I was no part of it."
