Jillian Michaels, Heidi Rhoades Split

Jillian Michaels and Heidi Rhoades have called it quits after nearly nine years together.

On Friday, June 15, 2018, The Biggest Loser alum took to Instagram to reveal that she and her music manager fianceé have called off their engagement.

"You've been with me through it all so I'm sharing some news with you...Heidi and I have been split for a while now," the fitness guru wrote to her "tribe," adding, "We've found we're better friends and parents living apart than staying together."

Michaels, 44, continued, "Life and people change but our love for one another and commitment to raising our two kids as an inseparable team remains. Thanks for always loving and supporting us, the feeling is mutual!"

The former couple welcomed their two children together in May 2012. Just before Rhoades gave birth to their son Phoenix, 6, Michaels adopted their 8-year-old daughter Lukensia from Haiti. "We're not married yet," the television personality explained to Health magazine in 2015 (via E! News). "We were domestic partners. And, then, we had to co-adopt each other's kids."

Michaels and Rhoades announced their engagement in 2016 during an episode of E!'s Just Jillian. "I know I'm an a** a lot of the time, but if you will continue to put up with me, I would like you to marry me," Michaels said during her proposal. "And even though I gave you that ring, I got a ring [for myself]."

After popping the question, she said, "Heidi is the perfect person for me. The only place where there's like a solace — a safe haven — is with my family. And Heidi is the nucleus of that family. She's the glue that really holds everything together, and I think without that, I would be lost."

At the time of this writing, Rhoades has yet to comment on the breakup.
