Eric Church's Brother Brandon Passes Away At 36

Eric Church's brother, Brandon Church, has died.

The siblings' father, Kenneth, told TMZ that Brandon had suffered a seizure at his residence in Granite Falls, N.C. on Friday, June 29, 2018. As he was being transported to a hospital via ambulance, he is said to have had another seizure, which may have sent him into cardiac arrest.

He was 36 years old.

Days later on Thursday, July 5, 2018, a rep for Eric released a statement to Us Weekly, addressing the news of Brandon's passing. "It is with great sadness that the Church family confirms that Eric's brother, Brandon, passed away Friday evening," the statement read. "In lieu of flowers, please leave a message for the family and/or make a donation to a Scholarship Memorial Fund created in Brandon's memory."

At the time of this writing, the Brandon E. Church Scholarship Memorial Scholarship has raised over $25,000. The fund will be used to help further the education of others and "honor a benevolent life."

According to an obituary on Bass-Smith Funeral Home's website, Brandon is survived by his daughter, McKenzie, who was described as "the light of his life."

At the time of this writing, Eric has yet to speak out about his brother's death personally. As noted by Us Weekly, Brandon co-wrote some of the country music star's songs, including "How 'Bout You" and "Without You Here."

Our thoughts are with Brandon's loved ones during this difficult time.
