Eli Roth, Wife Lorenza Izzo Split
Eli Roth and Lorenza Izzo are headed toward divorce.
The Hostel director took to Instagram on Monday, July 16, 2018, to release a joint statement on behalf of himself and his actress wife, which revealed their decision to end their marriage after six years together.
"Hi everyone, It is with deep love and respect that we are choosing to separate as a couple," they wrote, captioning a snapshot of themselves on the set of their first movie collaboration, The Green Inferno. "We've had an incredible journey together, we love each other very much, and will remain the best of friends. We are grateful for the six wonderful years together but have decided to go our separate ways to have the most fulfilled, joyous lives we can."
Their statement bluntly concluded, "We wish to continue working together creatively and are ultimately separating so we don't f**king kill each other."
Roth, 46, and Izzo, 28, married in the actress' native country of Chile in November 2014, two years after they first met on the set of the hit horror-thriller film. Throughout their relationship, the amicable exes continued to frequently work with one another on a number of projects, including the Netflix series Hemlock Grove. Their next movie, the Jack Black-led The House with a Clock In Its Walls, is expected to hit theaters in late Sept. 2018.
The director-actress duo may be on the same page with their breakup, but they are sadly not the only high-profile pairing to announce a divorce this year. Other recent celeb splits include the likes of Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett, Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan, and Alexis and Jim Bellino.
