Who Is The Office Star Rainn Wilson's Real-Life Wife, Holiday Reinhorn?

"The Office" ended a decade ago, but many can't forget Rainn Wilson's portrayal of the oddball employee of Dunder Mifflin, Dwight Schrute. While his character had no game when it came to women, Wilson had been married to his wife, Holiday Reinhorn, for years before he appeared in the hit NBC show in 2005. He first met Reinhorn in the '80s while attending an acting class at the University of Washington. While they didn't connect at first, Wilson couldn't get Reinhorn out of his mind for years and looked her up in the Whitepages. "I don't believe in love at first sight — it simply doesn't make sense — but that's what happened to me. I've been deeply in love with her ever since," he wrote in his memoir, "The Bassoon King."

The two got married on June 30, 1995, in Washington. Wilson described in his memoir having a bagpiper play "Amazing Grace" as the guests arrived and ending the ceremony with him and his new wife jumping into the Kalama River. In 2019, Wilson shared throwback pics of him and Reinhorn on their wedding day. "Today is the 24th wedding anniversary of me and the love of my life @HolidayReinhorn. She is a radiant, beautiful, strange Danish flower and I am beyond grateful to be with her on our weird, poetic journey," he shared on Facebook. After almost 28 years together, he and Reinhorn are still going strong. The two share a very sweet relationship — but what do we know about her?

Holiday Reinhorn is a talented writer

Rainn Wilson may have met Holiday Reinhorn in an acting class, but she went on to become a fiction writer focusing on short stories. Reinhorn first got the writing bug after reading "Helter Skelter" by Vincent Bugliosi and Curt Gentry while still in high school. According to The Short Story Project, she got her master's degree at the Iowa Writers' Workshop and published her first book, "Big Cats," in 2005. Reinhorn's short stories have also been published in several literary magazines, such as "Ploughshares" and "Gulf Coast."

Reinhorn also has producer and screenwriter on her list of accomplishments. She wrote and co-produced "Last Seen" in 2002 and wrote the screenplay for "Push" in 2017. Wilson and Reinhorn use their talents to help each other in their respective careers. In 2006, the actor revealed to The Seattle Times, "I edit all her stories. She helps me on all of my auditions. We have a very collaborative relationship. I'm a good actor and OK writer, and she's an OK actor and good writer." Writing is not Reinhorn's only passion, as she also spends her time helping others through her and Wilson's foundation.

Holiday Reinhorn is a philanthropist and animal lover

Holiday Reinhorn is putting her talents to good use. In 2014, she and Rainn Wilson started a charity called Lidè that helps young girls in Haiti empower themselves through the arts. The idea came about when they visited Haiti in 2009. "Our lives were transformed on that trip ... We had never been so affected by a place before. It's a magical country filled with heartbreaking poverty; vital, thrilling culture; and a proud, brilliant populace," Wilson shared with HuffPost.

After the earthquake, Reinhorn volunteered to teach young girls creative writing, which led to them learning how to read and express themselves through their words. Since the onset of their foundation, it has grown exponentially, and in 2022, Reinhorn shared in an Instagram video, "Thanks to you, last year we were able to serve 50% more girls. We were able to increase our scholarship offerings from 134 up to 1150." She and Wilson also announced that they would be matching all donations to Lidè for up to $50,000.

Reinhorn is also an animal rescuer, which Wilson shared during a visit to "Conan," which contributed to him becoming vegan. "My wife loves to rescue animals, and she rescued these two pot-bellied pigs that live in our backyard ... Snortington and Amy." He recalled eating bacon in front of the pigs, and it just felt so wrong he decided to give up meat. If Reinhorn has the power to convince a meat eater to go vegan, she must be remarkable indeed.
