What The Most Notorious Celebrity Exes Are Doing Now

Their marriages dominated the tabloids, but since parting ways, these notorious celebrity exes are nearly as obscure as they were before saying, "I do." What happened to people like Jon Gosselin, Kevin Federline and that dude who used investors money to take Anne Hathaway on vacations? Here's what we've uncovered.

Kevin Federline

Then: In 2004, Britney Spears met and married backup dancer-turned-rapper Kevin Federline. At the time, Spears was coming off a 55-hour Vegas marriage to a childhood pal, and Federline had just split from actress Shar Jackson, with whom he had two children. Not surprisingly, his relationship with Spears was a mess from the get-go and captured timelessly in their 2005 reality show Britney and Kevin: Chaotic. After two years and two sons, the couple split in 2006. A bitter divorce and custody battle followed just as Spears' career and personal life began to spiral out of control.

Now: Despite their messy breakup, Federline and Spears have patched things up enough to amicably co-parent their two boys, reports the Daily Mail. In 2013, he married longtime girlfriend Victoria Prince in Las Vegas. They have two children together, bringing Federline's total to, yep, six. In the years since his divorce from Spears, Federline made headlines for his appearances on two weight-loss reality series: Celebrity Fit Club and Australia's Excess Baggage, which landed him in the hospital twice, once for a minor heart attack.

Raffaello Follieri

Then: Anne Hathaway's fairytale romance with Italian businessman Raffaello Follieri came to a screeching halt in 2008 amid accusations that he had swindled millions of dollars out of investors and spent it on his own lavish lifestyle. Just weeks after they split, Follieri was formally arrested and charged with 14 counts of wire fraud, money laundering, and conspiracy, all of which he pleaded guilty to in September 2008, according to People. The following month, he was sentenced to four and a half years in prison.

Now: Follieri was released from federal prison in May 2012 and subsequently deported to Italy. He gave his first post-prison interview to ABC News the following month, saying he was happy Hathaway had moved on with her now-husband, Adam Schulman. In 2013, the New York Post reported that Follieri was living in London and hoping to get a presidential pardon so he could return to the United States.

Jesse James

Then: About a month after his wife, Sandra Bullock, won an Oscar in 2010, Jesse James was accused of having affairs with lots of ladies. The scandal proved to be especially embarrassing for the couple after a photo of James wearing a Nazi hat and giving a "Heil, Hitler" salute leaked to Us Weekly. Bullock officially filed for divorce in April 2010.

Now: During the scandal, ABC News reported that James checked himself into a treatment facility to potentially cope with sex addiction. He later apologized to Nightline for the Nazi photo and all of his extramarital affairs, blaming the latter on his rough childhood. In the summer of 2010, he began dating tattoo artist Kat Von D. They got engaged, broke up, got back together, and finally broke it off for good after Von D accused James of cheating on her with 19 women in a crazy Facebook post. Somehow, James rebounded again with drag racer Alexis DeJoria. They married in October 2013, according to Us Weekly.

Jon Gosselin

Then: Gosselin was one tenth of the ginormous TLC reality series, Jon & Kate: Plus 8, until his marriage to Kate Gosselin dissolved before our eyes in 2009. The couple's divorce was finalized in December, ending ten years of marriage, according to People.

Now: The fallout from Gosselin's divorce hit him pretty hard. In 2013, Entertainment Tonight reported (via E! Online) that Gosselin—who spent the first few months of his separation partying with multiple women—was waiting tables and living in a cabin without TV or Internet in a small Pennsylvania town. In 2014, RadarOnline reported that Gosselin had been fired from his job for "blowing off shifts and showing up late." The following year, Us Weekly confirmed that Gosselin was dating and living with his longtime friend, a registered nurse named Colleen Conrad. In April 2016, Gosselin told Steve Harvey that he "lost everything" after his divorce and had not seen all of his kids together in about three years.

Heather Mills

Then: Mills spent six years married to former Beatle Paul McCartney, but she is most remembered for their split in 2006 and the nasty, tabloid-friendly divorce that followed. When the just settled in March 2008, Mills was reportedly awarded $48.6 million, according to People magazine.

Now: Mills became the target of intense public scrutiny which continues today. She appeared on a handful of reality competition shows, including Dancing with the Stars, Britain's Dancing on Ice, and, most recently, two seasons of The Jump, in which celebrities compete in various winter sports. Speaking of winter sports: Mills—who lost part of her left leg in a 1993 accident—trained to compete in the 2014 Winter Paralympics, but withdrew in 2013 after losing her cool on an International Paralympic official, according to the Daily Mail.

Elin Nordegren

Then: In late 2009, Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren's marriage unraveled after it was uncovered that Woods had cheated on Nordegren with multiple women—as many as 120 other women, according to the New York Post. "I've been through hell," Nordegren said in a heartbreaking interview with People magazine. The couple's divorce was finalized in August 2010. Nordegren reportedly walked away with more than $100 million, according to Forbes.

Now: After enrolling in Rollins College in 2005, Nordegren finally graduated in 2014. According to People, she received the Hamilton Holt Outstanding Senior Award and delivered her class' commencement speech. "Education has been the only consistent part of my life the last nine years. And it has offered me comfort. Education is one thing that no one can take away from you," she said in her speech, according to People. Us Weekly reported that Nordegren split from her boyfriend of about a year, billionaire Chris Cline, in 2014 but reunited with him in 2016. As for her relationship with Woods, the exes are apparently amicable. Nordegren and Cline have gone on on double dates with Woods and his then-girlfriend, Lindsey Vonn, according to Us Weekly.

Cris Judd

Then: Jennifer Lopez caught Hollywood off guard when she married backup dancer Cris Judd in 2001. She raised even more eyebrows when she filed for divorce from Judd about nine months later, according to MTV News. Their divorce was finalized in 2003.

Now: Judd found love again years later when he married Kelly A. Wolfe in Laguna Beach, Calif. in 2009, Us Weekly reported. They have one daughter together, Vivienne, born in 2013. Judd eventually shed some light on his brief marriage to Lopez, admitting that being in such a bright spotlight was "tough." "Your privacy is breached. You're no longer a normal person. [Our wedding] was a circus. I think several people got arrested trying to climb up a mountain...trying to sneak in. We actually rented the airspace," he told Us Weekly in 2014.
