The 2018 People's Choice Awards Red Carpet Ranked Best To Worst

The 2018 People's Choice Awards aired Nov. 11, 2018, broadcasting from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif. Of course, many of today's hottest stars were there to celebrate the year's best in movies, television, music, and more. The 44th annual award show also marked the very first year that the ceremony was broadcast on the E! network and not CBS, where it had previously aired.

While the night shined a light on 2018's top talent in the entertainment industry, as well as the media that people took a liking to throughout the year, the celebration also offered an opportunity for Hollywood's elite to show off their styles on the red carpet. Though many event attendees totally rocked their looks, some really were a step above everyone else, and others ... well, they just missed the mark. Here are the best and worst red carpet fashion moments at the 2018 People's Choice Awards.

Mila Kunis

Hello, Mila Kunis! The Spy Who Dumped Me star walked the 2018 People's Choice Awards red carpet looking like a total ten. Considering Kunis' past award show style, who would have expected anything else from the A-lister? Kunis wore a body-hugging little black dress designed by Christian Louboutin that featured double spaghetti straps, bringing the '90s-style number into 2018 (via InStyle). The actress kept the focus on her fashion-forward midi-dress by keeping her accessories to a minimum, forgoing a necklace and wearing a simple bracelet, rings, and a pair of long earrings. She also had her hair styled in an elegant updo, which gave her an air of sophistication despite the otherwise youthful party dress.

With her effortless, top-notch style, Kunis wins the highest spot on our best-to-worst dressed list of the night. The only way she could have possibly looked cuter was if she walked the red carpet with her husband and former That '70s Show co-star, Ashton Kutcher. Because, honestly, who wouldn't want to see more of those lovebirds?

Victoria Beckham

Unsurprisingly, former singer and fashion designer Victoria Beckham looked completely at ease posing for photos on the People's Choice Awards red carpet. Beckham wore a stunning all-white ensemble, including an ivory suit from her own fashion line and a lacy camisole beneath her blazer, as noted by Us Weekly. She paired the suit with a pair of black pointed-toe heels and wore minimal — if any — jewelry.

Beckham certainly had good reason to dress so sharply for the big event, as she was honored with the first-ever Fashion Icon award at the show. "This year I am celebrating 10 years of my brand, and this is a wonderful way to mark that decade," she said in a press release, via E! News. "I am so grateful to be the inaugural recipient. I love what I do, and love that I have been given the opportunity to empower women through my collections."

If only she'd bring that style on the 2019 reunion tour with the Spice Girls...

Busy Philipps

Who doesn't love Busy Philipps? We've followed her career from Freaks and Geeks and Dawson's Creek to Cougar Town and I Feel Pretty, and she hasn't stopped being awesome. From the looks of things, she's totally feeling herself right now — and why shouldn't she? Philipps launched a new talk show this year on the E! network called Busy Tonight, so there's certainly reason to celebrate.

On the 2018 People's Choice Awards red carpet, Philipps went for a fun, festive look. While we might usually scoff at anyone wearing a turtleneck to a major entertainment event, Philipps somehow did it right, pairing the black top with a pink statement necklace and a Christian Siriano tulle skirt, as reported by Footwear News. She fully embraced the resurgence of '90s style by wearing a pair of Dr. Martens boots with her outfit. Part of the reason she opted for boots instead of heels? The girl had to to film Busy Tonight after the awards show, so she needs to be able to travel quickly. "I gotta run from here to Hollywood, so I was like I can't risk it," she said (via Footwear). "I'm not wearing heels. I have to wear shoes I know I can go in."

Jenni 'JWoww' Farley

Jersey Shore Family Vacation star Jenni "JWoww" Farley lived up to her nickname at the People's Choice Awards because she was absolutely stunning on the red carpet. Farley, who channeled Old Hollywood glamour with her wavy black locks, looked amazing in a curve-hugging metallic number that featured long sleeves, a draping skirt, and a plunging neckline. According to her Instagram post documenting her look of the night, Farley's dress was designed by the British brand House of CB.

Farley's attendance at the People's Choice Awards marked her first public appearance since announcing that she and her husband, Roger Mathews, were splitting, reported E! News. The reality TV star filed for divorce from Mathews in September 2018, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their separation. Since then, Mathews has vowed to win Farley back, telling his followers, "We're in counseling so there is hope. It ain't over 'till the fat lady sings."

Shay Mitchell

Former Pretty Little Liars actress Shay Mitchell arrived on the red carpet wearing an interesting burnt orange and black dress. According to E! News, Mitchell's gown, which featured large ruffles, was made by Australian designer Toni Maticevski, and it was apparently the very first dress she tried on when searching for a look for the 2018 People's Choice Awards. "First and only," Mitchell revealed to E!'s fashion panel.

While it's awesome that Mitchell was able to find a dress she loved right away — and one that fits her perfectly, we might add — we wish she had tried on a few more options. Though she looks gorgeous and the dress is beautiful, we think the TV star and YouTuber could have found a more playful dress to suit her lively personality. That said, Mitchell looked great, especially with her long, low ponytail and her stunning use of highlighter. Rather than wearing a lot of jewelry, she opted for a little glow by way of her makeup. "I love a little body glow!" she shared with the E!'s award show fashionistas.

Rita Ora

British singer Rita Ora made a statement on the People's Choice Awards red carpet, but we're not so sure if we're all for it. Ora attended the event in a periwinkle floor-length Versace gown with gold embellishments, a high slit, and structured shoulders and neckline (via Just Jared). While we love that Ora is always willing to take fashion risks, we just wish that she let the dress speak for itself by pairing it with simple gold heels rather than the matching thigh-high boots she wore. The dress and the boots together were just a little too much, in our opinion.

Still, the gown's shade looked gorgeous on Ora, and we appreciate her smokey eye and updo. Even though the record-breaking singer might not have totally impressed us with her outfit, we still think she's a total fashion icon (even if Victoria Beckham may have won that particular award at the PCAs).

Betty Gilpin

Actress Betty Gilpin, who plays former soap star Debbie Eagan in the Netflix hit series GLOW, hit the 2018 People's Choice Awards red carpet in a bold cherry-red dress designed by Esteban Cortazar, as noted by InStyle. The gown's bright color looked gorgeous on the blonde star, but the other aspects of this dress did little to elevate Gilpin's natural beauty. The ensemble featured long sleeves that fit tightly around Gilpin's wrists but appeared poofy around her upper arms. The high leg slit could have redeemed this dress, but, as it was placed on the side of her leg rather than near the front of the thigh, it failed to highlight her figure. Unfortunately, Gilpin's choice of footwear brought the look down further — those clunky-looking white heels added nothing to her award show look.

Well, there's always next year. Maybe Gilpin will find a fabulous gown for the 2019 ceremony.

Giuliana Rancic

TV personality Giuliana Rancic arrived at the awards show in a sparkly mini-dress — a perfect style choice considering her petite frame. While we applaud Rancic for choosing a short design that showed off her toned legs, we wish she would have dialed the dress' details back ... way back. The dress, which looked like a suit jacket, was covered in silver sequins from top to bottom — and featured a strange cut, which allowed her right shoulder to peek out. A black bra also appeared to be visible due to the dress' deep neckline.

All in all, this dress was a bit of a mess — not something we'd expect from the former Fashion Police star. Hopefully after this People's Choice Awards red carpet no-no, Rancic will realize that sometimes less is more. Though maybe she should've realized that by now, considering that she created her own clothing line!

Brie Bella

Professional wrestler and E! network TV star Brie Bella, who stars in Total Bellas with her twin sister, isn't exactly shy. That's likely one of the reasons why she decided to wear a black and white jumpsuit with poofy sleeves and cutouts at the shoulders and stomach, but we think the WWE icon could have done so much better than this Self-Portrait number she wore on the 2018 People's Choice Awards red carpet. Her tight, high pony didn't help things — some loose waves could have softened the outfit's rigid feel.

At least Brie did make one popular decision during the night when she and sister Nikki spoke to E! News about who they'd love to face off against in the wrestling ring. "I honestly think what would be really good is the Kardashians! Sisters versus sisters!" Nikki said.

"The Kardashians versus the Bella twins. I think that's a good match," Brie agreed. Now that's a choice we can get behind!
