Glee's Harry Shum Jr. Expecting First Child With Wife Shelby Rabara

Actor Harry Shum Jr. is going to be a dad!

On Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018, the Glee alum announced that he and his wife, Shelby Rabara, are expecting their first child together. Shum kept the big reveal simple, sharing a photo of Rabara looking shocked with him behind her and his hands on her baby bump. Rabara posted more photos from their photoshoot on her own Instagram page.

However, Shum didn't remain tight-lipped on the pregnancy for long. The pair attended the 2018 People's Choice Awards that night and spoke with E! News about becoming a father. "That wasn't a surprise. I was like, 'OK, cool, let's do this.' I don't know how other people who are expecting right now are [feeling]," he said. "It doesn't fully feel real yet, but, you start seeing the bump and you're like, this is becoming really real."

The Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments star, who married Rabara near Costa Rica in December 2015, continued, "I'm excited for her and for us. We haven't even planned out the baby room, none of that. We're just excited that we're about to have a baby."

But that's not all! The 36-year-old also revealed the sex of his future baby. When asked if he knew, he responded, "Yes, a baby girl!"

Shum noted that he can't wait to welcome his daughter into the world so he can "dress her up," especially when it comes to her footwear. "I always see those cool shoes. These shoes are so little and they're so small. They're so light," he said. "It's weird, I look at those shoes and I'm like, please everyone give me all the shoes so I can give her these cool shoes to have. ... I just love seeing them walk around and wobble in those shoes."

But the married pair don't only have their growing family to celebrate — though that is likely, of course, the biggest thing happening in their lives at the moment. Shum and Rabara can also celebrate the actor's big win at the People's Choice Awards. As Nicki Swift previously reported, he won the award for Male TV Star of 2018 for his role as Magnus Bane in Shadowhunters.

Shum's Shadowhunters co-star Katherine McNamara won Female TV Star of 2018, while their Freeform series snagged both Show of 2018 and Bingeworthy Show of 2018.

Clearly, Shum has a lot to be thankful for. Congratulations to Shum and Rabara!
