2019 SAG Award Nominations Announced
The 2019 Screen Actors Guild Award nominations are in!
On Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018, Orange Is the New Black star Laverne Cox and Crazy Rich Asians actress Awkwafina teamed up at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, Calif. to announce this year's nominees via livestream. This award show honors the very best performances in film and television.
With A Star Is Born leading the film category with four noms, BlacKkKlansman and The Favourite followed closely behind with three each. Meanwhile, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Ozark lead TV with four nominations each, while the likes of Barry, GLOW, The Handmaid's Tale, and The Kominsky Method all scored three. Additionally, as previously reported by Deadline in October 2018, actor-director Alan Alda is set to receive this year's SAG Life Achievement Award.
Also announced on Wednesday was this year's host, Will & Grace star Megan Mullally. As the show's executive producer, Kathy Connell, released in a statement to Entertainment Weekly, "We are delighted to have the talented, warm and funny Megan Mullally to host the SAG Awards Silver Anniversary. This is a very special year, and we are all looking forward to a memorable show." For her part, the actress stated, "As a frustrated casting director and full-on fangirl of great actors everywhere, I'm over the moon to be a part of the SAG Awards 25th Anniversary."
