Queer Eye's Jonathan Van Ness Splits From Boyfriend Wilco Froneman

Queer Eye star Jonathan Van Ness is reportedly single after breaking up with his boyfriend, rugby player Wilco Froneman.

On Sunday, Dec. 30, 2018, Van Ness posted a shirtless photo of himself on Instagram, and, in the caption, he revealed that he and Froneman had split up. Quoting pop star Ariana Grande's hit song "Thank U, Next," he wrote, "She taught me love, she taught me patience, how she handles pain, that s**ts amazing. I've loved and I've lost but that's not what I see because look what I found ain't no need for searching." He went on, "Rounding out my 2018 with a very gorg THANK U NEXT. #selflove."

The 31-year-old continued, "Please don't go in on Wilco, he doesn't need the anger & I don't want to see him suffer so just know I'm all good & sometimes people break up — Love you all so much,"

However, according to Us Weekly, Van Ness, who made his red carpet debut with Froneman in September 2018, originally had another caption. The celebrity news site reported that Van Ness initially wrote, "Cheaters never prosper," before updating the caption with the Ariana Grande lyrics.

Van Ness later addressed his breakup announcement on his Instagram Stories. In a text post, he said (via E! News), "I should've sat with myself a bit longer before I posted my most recent post." He went on, "Wilco is a good person & sometimes things don't work out. Please don't attack him on his page. Just let us move on, heal and enjoy your gorgeous New Years celebration. Your girl Jonathan is just fine. Biggest hug."

On Dec. 31, 2018, Froneman opened up about his breakup with Van Ness in a now-deleted Instagram post. Posting a photo of the two at a skating rink, he told his followers, "Not only did Jonathan van Ness give me the best moments of 2018, but undoubtedly the best moments of my life. I will always love him and cherish every moment we shared. I encourage everyone to continue to send him love, no one deserves anything less."
