Pink Hits Back At Instagram Haters Who Bashed Her For Her 'Polarizing Opinions'

Singer Pink is speaking out against those who have apparently left negative comments on her social media.

On Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019, Pink (real name Alecia Moore) posted an old photo of herself sporting a Juicy tank top and short pink hair on Instagram. But, rather than caption it with "Throwback Thursday," as is popular, she instead wrote, "Throw up Thursday."

In a lengthy message, the "Just Give Me a Reason" artist stated, "I am the same girl I've always been. I have always admitted when I am wrong. I have apologized many times. I'm a big believer in apologies, when you're wrong." She noted that she was brought up by a parent who served during the Vietnam War and who told her to "stand up for what I believe to be right. Even if that means standing alone."

Continuing on, she told her 5.3 million followers that she's not sorry for having some "very polarizing opinions," and she encouraged people to unfollow her on the social media platform if they wished. "I am mostly peace and love, with a little bit of go f**k yourself. So when you keyboard warriors (anonymous toughguys) threaten me? that middle finger is pointed at you," she said, referencing a photo she'd posted just a day earlier, in which she flipped off the camera. Before describing the "beautiful people" that fight for equality and justice, she said, "This country is broken right now in a lot of ways. It makes me very angry and sad. We all remind me of my parents right before their divorce when they could no longer even speak to each other with anything less than hatred and vitriol. It's tragic. And we're all to blame."

As noted by People, Pink's Instagram post is likely in response to comments she received after posting about the well-known video in which a MAGA hat-donning teenage boy stared down a Native American tribal elder and veteran while he chanted and played a drum at an Indigenous Peoples March. "Appalling and beyond disrespectful. Nauseating," Pink said in a post on her page in regards to the viral clip.

Clearly, Pink's not going to let any commenters' nasty words get to her or stop her from continuing to speak her mind. "For children to have respect for others, for veterans to be honored and treated with respect. These are the ideals my father raised me with. And you all cannot talk me out of it," she said in her post on Jan. 24. "No matter what vile things you say about me and my husband and my children. Onwards and upwards. Keep fighting the good fight."
