Kate Beckinsale's Ex Warns Comedian Pete Davidson To 'Run'

Actress Kate Beckinsale and Saturday Night Live's Pete Davidson's apparent relationship appears to be going strong, as they've been seen kissing in public, but is their romance meant to last? According to Beckinsale's ex-boyfriend, it might just be best for everyone involved if Davidson just splits.

On Monday, March 4, 2019, TMZ spoke with Beckinsale's ex Matt Rife outside of Los Angeles' Laugh Factory, and the comedian had some choice words for Davidson. When asked by the celebrity gossip rag if he had any advice to give the SNL star, Rife said, "Man to man? Run." He continued, "Enjoy it. Enjoy it while you can."

He later added, "I don't really have any solid advice. Just be careful."

Clearly, it'd appear that Beckinsale and Rife didn't split on the greatest of terms. He told TMZ that their year-long relationship back in 2017 had been "complicated." Rife, who said he was 21 to Beckinsale's 43 when they started dating, shared that there'd been "a lot of ups and downs."

Still, Rife hoped for the best for the new couple. "I hope they're both happy. I hope it can build to where it's an established, good relationship," the Wild 'N Out star said. While he hadn't spoken to either Beckinsale or Davidson for some time, he wishes that they're "happy."

But don't think that Rife wants Davidson to break up with Beckinsale so that he can get back together with her. When TMZ asked Rife if he'd ever start a relationship with Beckinsale again, he answered with a succinct "no." He continued, "No. Absolutely not. No, not a chance."

Us Weekly reports that Beckinsale and Rife got together after her November 2015 divorce from director Len Wiseman, whom she was married to for 11 years. At the time, Entertainment Tonight noted that Beckinsale and Rife had connected through a mutual friend. According to Us Weekly, they were last spotted together in public in September 2018.

Kate Beckinsale and Pete Davidson's romance may have first started in January 2019, as reported by Us Weekly. The two reportedly first took an interest in each other at Golden Globes after-parties, and, by the next month, they were making their first public appearance for a possible date night in Los Angeles. They were later spotted making out at a Rangers game in March.

Regarding Beckinsale and Davidson's budding relationship, a source told E! News, "Kate has spent some time with him and thinks he's very funny and charming." Another insider revealed, "He always has her laughing and that's a good feeling to have," adding, "They talk a lot and never run out of things to say."

"Kate's very into Pete," the source continued. "You wouldn't necessarily put them together, but it's working for now. She's excited about getting to know him and hoping to spend more time with him."

Hopefully everything between Beckinsale and Davidson works out — these two are just too cute together. Plus, we doubt Davidson would appreciate having any more relationship drama after his failed engagement to pop star Ariana Grande.

As fans of these celebs may remember, Davidson and Grande got engaged in June 2018 after just weeks of dating (via People). But it wouldn't be long before they called it quits, as they split up by that October. Though it's not immediately clear just why Davidson and Grande's romance didn't last, their breakup may have been influenced by Davidson's crass jokes and Grande's heartbreak after her former longtime boyfriend Mac Miller passed away.

Following their split, there, as could be expected, appeared to be bad blood between them, with Grande getting upset at an SNL promo in which Davidson joked about getting engaged and releasing the song "Thank U, Next" that mentioned Davidson by name. Davidson was reportedly "sad" after the single's release, according to E! News.

But the two have largely remain polite regarding one another, with Grande telling TMZ in early February 2019 that she thought Davidson and Beckinsale were "so cute" together.

So, hopefully, Davidson can just move on from Grande — if he hasn't done so already — and enjoy his new romance with Beckinsale. Regardless of whether Davidson and Beckinsale stay together for a few months or for the rest of their lives, they look like they're having a good time with one another, and that's all you can really ask for.
