People Who Have Thrown Serious Shade At Lea Michele

Broadway baby Lea Michele may be an inimitable talent, but with great talent comes a great number of haters. As Michele's stardom grew, so too did the infamy of her attitude. Co-stars and celebrities have lashed out against the Glee star. Keep reading for all the juicy details.

Naya Rivera

Rumors of a torrid feud between Michele and Glee co-star Naya Rivera surfaced in April 2014. Rivera played tough cheerleader Santana Lopez on the hit teen series, while Michele enjoyed the spotlight in the starring role of theater princess Rachel Berry. "They're always icy to each other," a source told Us Weekly. "Naya is jealous that Lea is the show's main star...There is a lot of sighing and eye-rolling between them."

Years later, that bad blood lingers. Rivera reportedly talks about the drama in her tell-all book, Sorry Not Sorry: Dreams, Mistakes, and Growing Up, set to be released in September 2016.

Jessica Lange

What's worse than being snubbed on a red carpet? Being snubbed by Jessica Lange on an American Horror Story: Freak Show red carpet. Michele attended the show's October 2014 premier and, as celebrities do, she paused to pose for the press in attendance. The legendary Lange passed right in front of  Michele mid-pose and completely ignored the young actress's warm greeting. While no statement was issued by Lange's camp, the press had a field day whipping up stories about the alleged snub.

Kate Hudson

Hudson guest starred on Glee in a six-episode story arc at the beginning of the show's fourth season. She played Cassandra July, Rachel Berry's new dance teacher at the New York Academy of the Dramatic Arts. In August 2012, just weeks before the season premiere, Us Weekly reported that Hudson considered her co-star a "total diva." According to a source, "Kate says Lea is a nightmare. Once, during a technical delay, Lea snapped her fingers and said, 'Let's go. I have plans!'"

Apparently, those hard feelings faded fast. Michele told Elle that after her boyfriend and Glee co-star, Cory Monteith, was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room from a heroin overdose in July 2013, her home was swarmed by reporters. Feeling like she had nowhere else to go, Michele called Hudson who immediately opened her home. "I'll never really be able to thank her, truly, for what she did for me," Michele said.

Patrick McMullan

In 2010, Time Magazine included Michele in its annual list of the "Top 100 Most Influential People." The honor coincided with the end of Glee's debut season, which meant that Michele was still a rookie in the spotlight. In May 2010, she attended Time's annual "Top 100" gala in New York City and was photographed by famed shooter Patrick McMullan.

According to New York magazine, when McMullan asked Michele for her name to identify her in his photos, the actress responded "Sarah Palin." When given a second chance to answer, she said, "Taylor Swift." The celebrity photographer allegedly responded with some choice cuss words, though the native New Yorker later claimed he just said, "forget about it." Regardless, fellow attendees noticed the diss, and Michele tweeted an apology for her "silly joke.
