The Reason Billie Eilish's Fans Are Creeped Out By Her Brother's Girlfriend

Billie Eilish has been climbing her way to the top since her single "Ocean Eyes" cropped up on Soundcloud in 2015. A controversial artist, Eilish has been seen as a beacon for Gen Z angst — something that, at times, hasn't gone over well with older audiences. The Telegraph, for example, expressed concern that the singer is encouraging a new genre called "misery pop."

Nevertheless, Eilish has proved herself as a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. In November 2019, it was announced that the Los Angeles-born singer made Grammy history by being the youngest artist nominated in the top four categories. If she wins any awards, we're certain she'll be thanking her brother, Finneas O'Connell, her collaborator and co-producer. "I don't enjoy working with other people," Eilish told The Irish Times in December 2019adding, "Finneas is really good at writing music, really fast."

There's no denying that the siblings are super close. That's why when O'Connell started dividing his time between working with his sister and spending time with a mystery woman, fans obviously wanted to know more about the new leading lady in O'Connell's life. However, there was one thing fans picked up on pretty quickly without having to do much digging — and it's a bit peculiar. Here's the reason why Billie Eilish's fans are creeped out by her brother's girlfriend.

Finneas O'Connell's girlfriend has a striking resemblance to Billie Eilish

First of all, who exactly is Finneas O'Connell's girlfriend? Well, as it turns out, she's pretty famous in her own right. Diehard YouTube fanatics will more than likely recognize the name Claudia Sulewski. The 23-year-old is a beauty vlogger who's been churning out YouTube videos since 2009. Sulewski's since expanded to Instagram, too, boasting more than a million followers.

Sulewski's relationship with O'Connell can be traced back to 2018 when she posted her very first Instagram photo with the pop hitmaker. Since then, the two have been pretty much inseparable. In fact in 2019, O'Connell gushed to Buzzfeed about writing a song dedicated to Sulewski. "I wrote the song 'Claudia' about Claudia the day that I met Claudia, and I sent it to her the night that I met Claudia." A bit repetitive, but we're swooning, nonetheless.

Suddenly, in the summer of 2019, fans started picking up on something odd about Sulewski: her resemblance to Billie Eilish. As one Twitter user put it, "someone said Finneas' girlfriend looks like Billie and now I can't unsee it." Some were quick to brush off the gossip, but, nevertheless, chaos ensued in the Twittersphere. However, regardless of what the Internet has to say, the similarity between the two ladies doesn't seem to bother any of the three parties involved. So, to each their own, right?
