The Truth About Taylor Selfridge And Cory Wharton's Relationship

Teen Mom OG star Cory Wharton met Taylor Selfridge, the mother of his second daughter, Mila, on MTV's Ex on The Beach in 2017. The two had an on-again, off-again relationship from there, but fully reunited in February 2019, per Us Weekly. Taylor and Cory then welcomed their daughter in April 2020.

The pair have been through a lot throughout their short time together, which has included creating a blended family with TMOG co-star Cheyenne Floyd, the mom of Cory's first daughter, Ryder. Cory and Cheyenne welcomed the little girl in April 2017, although they weren't an item at the time.

Then in June 2020, the duo faced another hurdle when MTV cut ties with Taylor for racist tweets she wrote as a teenager. Cory was very emotional about the decision, stating on Instagram Live, per Us Weekly, "Taylor's strong. She's pulling through and I'm super proud of her and you know, I feel like she's apologized for this many times on the network and she's probably going to continue to have to apologize for it." He added, "But I know this girl better than anybody else, and when you see somebody that you love being painted a certain way and that's not who she is, it's hard."

So how did these two build a strong relationship after starting on shaky ground? We reveal the truth about Taylor and Cory's relationship below.

Taylor Selfridge and Cory Wharton's relationship was meant to be

As Cory Wharton noted in an interview with People, he found out Ryder was his daughter "two weeks after" meeting Taylor Selfridge. For those fans who might not remember, Cheyenne Floyd assumed an ex-boyfriend was Ryder's dad until a DNA test determined otherwise.

Taylor understood Cory's situation from the get-go, which helped her develop a positive relationship with Cheyenne. "It's definitely one big, weird, blended, dysfunctional family," Cheyenne told E! News about her bond with Cory and Taylor. "I actually helped them plan their gender reveal and gave them all the vendors and places to call." She joked, "People hear that and they're like, 'You helped your child's father plan their new child's gender reveal?' and it sounds so weird but it works for us."

Cory also cleared up the on-again, off-again speculation to People, explaining to the outlet in April 2019, "Taylor and I never really stopped talking after Ex On The Beach. We're going on almost a year and a half. We took about two to three months off and other than that, that's who I've been with."

However, when it comes to marriage, the parents won't rush down the aisle. "Taylor is a new mom, and that has enough challenges on its own. We don't even talk about a wedding or anything like that," Cory told The Sun in June 2020.
