Here's How Justin Bieber Responded To New Allegations Against Him

On June 20, 2020, a Twitter user, "who identified herself as Danielle, alleged that [Justin] Bieber sexually assaulted her" in March 2014, according to E! News. Danielle, who withheld her last name, tweeted: "I'm posting this anonymously because I'm not ready to come forward and reveal myself. If he comes across this, you know who I am. I know you remember me. I hope your life is hell after this and you drown in guilt," (via E! News).

According to The Guardian, the tweet and the account have since been deleted.

In light of the allegations, Bieber responded on June 21, 2020, via Twitter, writing, "I don't normally address things as I have dealt with random accusations my entire career but after talking with my wife and team I have decided to speak up on an issue tonight."

In another tweet, he wrote, "Rumors are rumors but sexual abuse is something I don't take lightly. I wanted to speak out right away but out of respect to so many victims who deal with these issues daily I wanted to make sure I gathered the facts before I made any statement."

Those were Bieber's first two tweets following the allegations. However, the singer uploaded several images and sent out many more tweets in response. Here's what else Bieber had to say.

Justin Bieber claims he was with Selena Gomez in Texas

The Twitter user who accused Justin Bieber of sexually assaulting her claimed it happened in 2014 in Austin, Texas, according to The Guardian. The news source reported that the woman said that she was 21 at the time of the assault while Bieber was 20.

After Bieber's first two tweets, the singer took to the social media platform to share this: "In the past 24 hours a new Twitter appeared that told a story of myself involved with sexual abuse on March 9, 2014 in Austin Texas at the Four seasons hotel. I want to be clear. There is no truth to this story. In fact as I will soon show I was never present at that location."

Bieber then followed up with another tweet, writing that on the day of the alleged assault, he was with Selena Gomez. "As her story told I did surprise a crowd in Austin at Sxsw where I appeared on stage with my then assistant side stage and sang a few songs," he tweeted. "What this person did not know was that I attended that show with my then gf Selena Gomez."

Following those tweets, Bieber posted several documents and photographs to add credibility to his statements.

Justin Bieber shared receipts in light of the allegations

In response to allegations that he sexually assaulted a woman in March 2014 while in Austin, Texas, Justin Bieber took to Twitter to give an account of his whereabouts that night. Bieber shared a link to an article from March 10, 2014, that talked about Selena Gomez being in Texas with him. He also shared photos with the caption: "These photos clearly show me on stage with my assistant sidestage and the other with both of us in the streets of Austin afterwards on March 9 2014."

Bieber also shared an Austin 360 article to show that, on the night in question, he and Selena arrived in Austin late in the evening because she had been performing in Houston that same evening.

In Danielle's tweet, she alleged that she was at an event hosted by Bieber's manager, Scooter Braun. Following the event, a man asked her and her friends if they wanted to meet Bieber, according to E! News. She claimed that they went to the Four Seasons where "Justin's friend brought my 2 friends to a room, and he took me to another room," per the outlet. Danielle allegedly asked Bieber where Gomez was in order "to make conversation,"and he told her "not to worry about it and that she'll come up to the room later."

Danielle continued, alleging that she "kept asking questions to add to our conversation, but he then leaned in to kiss [her]," per E! News. Bieber then allegedly started "unbuttoning" her pants and "tracing [her] underwear with his fingers."

Bieber responded to those details, too.

Justin Bieber says he'll take legal action

In response to accusations, Justin Bieber has been active on Twitter, sharing details of his trip to Austin, Texas in March 2014. While Danielle, the Twitter user who came forward with the accusation, said that she met Bieber at the Four Seasons on March 9, 2014, Bieber shared a tweet to show he was at the Four Seasons on March 10 instead.

To follow up, Bieber also added another tweet which discussed him being in the restaurant of the Four Seasons — "not the hotel." He then tweeted screenshots of texts and hotel bills, noting that on March 9, 2014, he and Selena Gomez stayed at an AirBnB, and on March 10, 2014, they stayed at the Westin Austin at The Domain.

Bieber then tweeted this: "We have also confirmed with the Four Seasons regional manager that I was never on property on the 9th of March 2014 and never a guest on the 9th or the 10th and I welcome all press to inquire with them if needed or wanted." The pop star shared more hotel receipts and then said,"I won't be using mike lowery anymore as an alias."

He concluded by tweeted the following message: "Every claim of sexual abuse should be taken very seriously and this is why my response was needed. However this story is factually impossible and that is why I will be working with twitter and authorities to take legal action."
