John Wayne's Youngest Daughter Grew Up To Be A Total Knockout
Prolific film actor John Wayne is well-known for his successful screen work, with the late star leading major flicks such as "The Quiet Man," "True Grit," and "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance," to name a few. He was a pivotal star of the Western genre, similar to other actors like Clint Eastwood and Randolph Scott. Luckily, he was just as successful in his personal life. He had seven children with two different wives over the years. Wayne shared Michael, Mary Antonia "Toni," Patrick, and Melinda with his first wife, Josephine Alicia Saenz, and Aissa, John Ethan, and Marisa with his third wife, Pilar Pallete. But he still got beat by one fellow Western star here — Eastwood has eight children.
Some of Wayne's children followed in his footsteps to pursue a career in the entertainment industry, as did Wayne's lookalike grandson, Brendan. But others went different routes, leading to a life spent mostly out of the spotlight. This is the case with his youngest child, Marisa. Born in 1966, Marisa is thriving these days with a great business and her own children, Carmela and Duke. But one thing most people can't help but notice about Marisa when they see photos is how stunning she is.
The mother of two is the perfect mix of her father and mother, with Wayne's sharp eyes and angled face shape, paired with her mother's intense cheekbones and bright smile. In July 2025, Marisa posted a snap with her half-brother Patrick that had fans doing a double-take. In the image, Marisa looked fantastic with voluminous highlighted hair. She also wore a patterned top as she posed next to her brother for his birthday. Fans piled on the compliments in the comments. And a few noted how happy Wayne would probably be to see them together.
Marisa passed on her lucky genes to her two kids
While Marisa Wayne is well-known as John Wayne's youngest child, she went on to have two children of her own, a daughter named Carmela and a son named Duke. Her son's name is even an homage to her father (unlike these celebs who have little-known nicknames, John's "The Duke" sobriquet is pretty legendary.) In what should come as no surprise, Marisa passed on her parents' amazing genes to her kids, and she occasionally shows off photos of them on Instagram. Both also seem to be doing well, with Carmela graduating from Cal Poly in 2026. Like her father, who was known to be a true family man, Marisa is just as supportive of her own children.
As for how Marisa keeps herself looking so great, she has a strong passion for fitness. She talked in an interview with The Orange County Register about how she enjoyed acting like her father but wasn't fond of the business side of it. So instead, she pursued fitness, opening GritYoga and GritCycle in 2013 in California. As for what led her there, she said, "I always loved classes and group exercises. I was never one to self-motivate and just go for a run. I wanted to go at a certain time and suffer with other people."
Luckily, it all worked out, and Marisa taught classes at GritCycle for a long while. Years later, she and some business partners opened a similar studio in Texas called Coast Cycle. It was so successful that she brought the new business to California, where she opened a Corona Del Mar location in 2025. At the time of this writing, Marisa teaches there, with her official bio saying, "There's nothing better than having someone come up after class and say that they've never liked exercise, but now they schedule their lives around it."
