What Michaele Salahi (Schon) From RHODC Is Up To Today

The Real Housewives of D.C. alum Michaele Salahi (Schon) effectively broke the internet when she and then-husband Tareq Salahi, heir to the bickering Oasis Winery brood, crashed a White House state dinner meant to honor Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in 2009.

After that, Michaele became the butt of the joke in households all across America and was infamously known as the Real Housewife who basically singlehandedly canceled an entire Real Housewives franchise after only one season. Even Bravo's own Andy Cohen had less than pleasant things to say about the disgraced Housewife, as well as Tareq, and their short-lived time on the show. Cohen was later quoted as saying (via The Hill), "That show really got torpedoed by the 'Salamis,' I feel like, with the White House crash. There was such a stink on it from those two." Ouch.

But there is really so much more to this former Washington Redskins cheerleader and makeup artist-turned-reality star than meets the eye. Let's learn how Michaele Salahi (Schon) still can't seem to stay out of the public's glaring eye.

Michaele Salahi (Schon) went 'missing'

Michaele Salahi (Schon) once again made headlines in September 2011, when her then-husband, Tareq Salahi, frantically searched for his missing wife ... or, at least, he thought she was missing.

E! News reports that, in a desperate attempt to locate Michaele after she failed to come home following a scheduled hair appointment, Tareq had his publicist take to Twitter to try and locate her, writing in since-deleted tweets: "RHODC star is MISSING, Please RT, if u know any details please contact Virginia Police Dept or missing@MichaeleSalahi.com ... Michaele Salahi was last seen wearing a Baby Blue T-shirt dress with a silver glitter dolphin on the front and back thongs. #KIDNAPPED." Yikes ... imagine going missing and that's the description going around meant to help locate your whereabouts.

Tareq also reportedly contacted authorities after he received a suspicious phone call from his wife letting him know that she was visiting her mother. Unfortunately, Michaele's mother had not heard from her. According to ABC News, Tareq was quoted as saying, "She wasn't being herself as if somebody was standing over her, as if somebody was right there so something was wrong, I could tell." Okay, so what on earth was actually going on?

Michaele Salahi (Schon) was found ... in the arms of rock star Neal Schon

After a very public search and desperate pleas for information for his then-wife's whereabouts, then came some very public news Tareq Salahi most certainly did not want to hear: Michaele Salahi (Schon) was safe and happy ... in Memphis, Tenn. ... with lead guitarist of the band Journey, Neal Schon.

According to Daily Mail, the Warren County, Virginia police department issued a statement that read, "Mrs. Salahi said she did not want Mr. Salahi to know where she was. She seemed calm, was engaged in conversation and assured the deputy that she had left the residence with a good friend and was where she wanted to be. She advised she did not want to be home right now."

Meanwhile, Journey's rep later issued a statement of its own to TMZ: "Nobody kidnapped her and they are in Memphis together." And there ya have it folks ... what was once lost was now found.

Michaele Salahi (Schon) moved on fast

Shortly after the mistaken missing person drama, Tareq Salahi filed for divorce, as reported by ABC News. In court documents, Tareq had this to say about his estranged wife, Michaele Salahi (Schon): "She continually exposes our friends and acquaintances to her adulterous relationship and has flaunted the same throughout the community, the nation and indeed the world, and thus caused me to suffer great harm, humiliation and embarrassment."

However, it doesn't appear any love was lost on Michaele's part. In a 2013 interview with E! News, the former RHODC star opened up about her whirlwind romance with Neal Schon and her decision to leave her former husband. "That's when I just decided I'm doing it. I'm in love with Neal. We've been best friends," she said. "And when you meet your soul mate and he's been mine since the '90s when I first met him. And you can't fight that feeling you have to just go with it. And I've been in love with him for a very long time."

Shortly after in that December, the Schons wed in a ceremony that aired live on pay-per-view, and the two lived happily ever after. But really — this celeb pair is still married to this day and even share a joint Facebook account, where they can be found engaging in lots of PDA and spreading their resounding message of love, light, blessings, and more. For once, it seems, this former Real Housewife has got it right!
