Celebs Who Can't Stand Daniel Tosh
Comedy is subjective — you either get the joke or you get offended by the joke. Comedian Daniel Tosh knows no limit when he's on stage nor on his viral clip show, Tosh.0. Blending misogyny, homophobia, and racism into his dark comedic satire, there's no question that he has the potential to rub many people the wrong way.
Although Tosh is familiar with success, he's also no stranger to controversy. In 2012, the comedian was accused by a member of his Laugh Factory audience of making inappropriate jokes about sexual assault during a standup act. In a Tumblr post which has been taken down since, the anonymous blogger claimed Tosh made a joke about rape being "hilarious," per Mashable. Tosh later took to Twitter to address the situation. "All the out of context misquotes aside, I'd like to sincerely apologize," he wrote in the now-deleted post (via CBS News). "The point I was making before I was heckled is there are awful things in the world but you can still make jokes about them."
Clearly, dark humor isn't for everybody, and Tosh knows his jokes have offended people in the past, especially celebrities. In fact, here are a few stars who can't stand this controversial comedian.
Lena Dunham thinks Daniel Tosh is the 'biggest misogynist in Hollywood'
Lena Dunham is not a fan of Daniel Tosh, and that's due to his outrageous (and arguably offensive) humor. The actress and creator of HBO's Girls became the focus of one of Tosh's jokes after he allegedly made a remark about her breasts. Surrounding his 2012 controversial rape joke, Dunham tweeted: "Don't know what Daniel Tosh did but I hear he once said a rude thing about my t**s so I'M AGAINST HIM."
In 2018, Dunham then called out Tosh as the "biggest misogynist in Hollywood" when asked to name a celebrity who fit the description by Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen. Dunham took a brief moment to pause and think when first asked the question, explaining that it was hard to choose just one person because "there's so many." She then backed up her choice and revealed who she was referring to, saying, "This isn't a person who has like a ton of power, but the small amount he has, I feel he has used for ill and that's Daniel Tosh."
"He said a really unkind thing about my breasts, but he said it in a context in which I felt like he was shutting down a lot of women for having bodies he didn't consider to be normative," the star added. While Dunham never expressed what exactly was said by Tosh, it obviously rubbed her the wrong way.
And she's certainly not the only famous figure who's been at odds with the comedian.
Arn Anderson is tired of Daniel Tosh's constant jokes about him
Daniel Tosh is a huge fan of wrestling, so it makes sense that he would find a way to offend one of his least favorite wrestlers, Arn Anderson. According to Ringside News, Tosh's beef with Anderson stems from a childhood dislike of the now-retired pro. Even as an adult, Tosh seems to have never gotten over it.
In response to the situation, Anderson recorded a video which he shared on Twitter in 2019. "We have some rules ... in my world, Daniel. One of them is you don't pick a fight with a guy that's already p****d off. Probably don't overmatch yourself in a fight either, it's not a good idea," Anderson told the comedian. He then left Tosh a stern message, saying, "We got one last thing to deal with, don't we? We gotta figure out if your balls are as big as your mouth. See you soon, Daniel."
While the Twitter message wasn't exactly friendly, it didn't stop Tosh from trolling Anderson on social media. In 2019, he made the former wrestler the subject of an "Arn Sucks Podcast" spoof on Tosh.0, taking shots at his wrestling skills and accusing him of riding Ric Flair's coattail. In March 2020, Tosh posted a photo of a sign promoting Nude Hand Sanitizer Wrestling with the caption, "You don't want none, Arn."

Daniel Tosh claimed Rob Dyrdek ripped off his TV show
Tosh.0 might be popular, but the clip show concept isn't new. Despite that, Daniel Tosh wasn't pleased when Rob Dyrdek came around with Ridiculousness, a similar yet candid viral clip show. When Ridiculousness first aired in 2011, Tosh had some choice words for the professional skateboarder on Twitter (via ESPN), writing, "Congrats @robdyrdek. [Your] new show looks very funny & familiar." Dyrdek fired back, mentioning other hosts of similar shows while tweeting, "[Thank] you so much @danieltosh!! Maybe later this week you, @BobSaget, and @Tom_Bergeron can come down to my factory and play."
The drama then reached its peak in 2012 when Tosh filmed a skit implying that Dyrdek is a pedophile. Dyrdek angrily responded on Twitter (via TMZ), suggesting that he would be fine settling the score the "old-fashioned way." Tosh continued to troll Dyrdek, writing, "[F]air enough but if you have to beat me up, can we film it and put it on my show so people will actually watch it?"
While that didn't happen, Dyrdek did address the rivalry in a 2014 interview with Larry King and claimed that the idea for Ridiculousness had actually been around prior to Tosh's first season. "It's more bothersome out of the idea of regardless of how much I know, like, I had done the idea way before [Tosh] ever came out and sold it to them, it's like you still can't convey that," Dyrdek said. "The reality of it is, my show came out after his and it created this thing."
