Who Is New Southern Charm Cast Member, John Pringle?

Craig Conover, Austen Kroll, Kathryn Dennis, and Shep Rose are back for Southern Charm Season 7 on Oct. 29, 2020, along with some new faces, including John Pringle. John knows Shep from their days at the University of Georgia, according to his cast member bio. Specifically, John and Shep were both brothers in the same fraternity, per Bravo's The Daily Dish. Even though John isn't in Georgia these days, he's remained a very avid fan of the football team. After college, John relocated to New York City to "learn the family commodity business firsthand."

John joins the show as a friend of Shep's, but it sounds like he and Austen might have some drama brewing this season since John "shows an interest in" Madison LeCroy, Austen's on-again, off-again girlfriend. The situation sparks a "debate with the guys about bro-code," which sounds entertaining.

Although John seemingly has some drama in Charleston, his heart is in Los Angeles since his two sons Quinn and Asher —  who he had with his ex-wife, Heidi — were born there. John and Heidi have remained friends following their split, making it a point to be amicable co-parents. Now that John is back in Charleston, he's hoping to return the family business to his hometown (the Pringle family has deep ties to the area). However, he has another passion in life, creating music — keep reading for more info about his musical talents.

John Pringle is a musican and songwriter

In addition to working in the commodity business and the recent inclusion of "reality TV star" to his resumé, Southern Charm newbie John Pringle is also a musician and a songwriter. He released the LP Strange Points of View in 2004, and two years later, he dropped Midnight Mass on the Williamsburg Bridge, which had three tracks. In 2010, Pringle released an 18-song album called Simple Act.

Perhaps, the exposure from Southern Charm will help grow John's following as a musician. He has showcased his music on Instagram, so it's not a stretch to assume that he might do the same thing on the show. In a June Instagram video, he played his song "A Girl in San Francisco," which is a track from Simple Act. Then in April 2020, he shared a video of a song he wrote when finding out he was expecting his first child, sharing, "I thought I'd post cause it reminded me the best part of making music for me is one person in a room trying make sense of something. Whatever that something may be."

Will John become the next Bravolebrity who finds musical success? Fans will find out in due time.
