What Leva Bonaparte Really Thinks About Kathryn Dennis' Fashion Sense

Southern Charm star Kathryn Dennis loves making a statement. She has no problem using her words to express her opinions or send a bold message with her outfit choices. Kathryn applied her passion for fashion when she started working at a Charleston, S.C. department store called Gwynn's in 2017. At the time, Gwynn's owner Marshall Simon told Page Six, "Kathryn is freelancing for us." Simon additionally revealed, "She's been here for a few weeks now. Bravo has filmed several times. She's done a good job. She has a good eye for apparel and styling people, putting outfits and entire looks together." Unfortunately, the store cut ties with Kathryn in May 2020 after she was accused of sending racist messages to Black activist Mike Gadsden, according to Page Six. The store announced Kathryn's dismissal via Instagram, sharing, "As a minority-owned business, Gwynn's and our employees are dedicated to serving all members of our community."

Prior to that falling out, Kathryn was in full-on fashion influencer mode, as demonstrated by a 2018 Instagram post that stated, "I don't want to watch fantasy figures of women seen through the male lens; I want to see idiosyncratic, layered, weird women..bc we are weird." She told her Instagram followers, "I DARE *you* to wear something today that you've always said you 'can't pull off.' you can, you are a MF goddess."

Kathryn may feel like a goddess, but Southern Charm newbie Leva Bonaparte thinks she sometimes misses the mark like the rest of us mere mortals.

Leva Bonaparte thinks Kathryn Dennis the worst dressed on Southern Charm

Southern Charm viewers have seen Kathryn Dennis take plenty of fashion risks throughout the years. Unfortunately, when someone steps outside of the norm so often, there's going to be a mix of feedback. In a November 2020 Us Weekly interview, Leva Bonaparte named Kathryn as her worst-dressed co-star.

The Bourbon 'N Bubbles owner said, "Kathryn's a hit or miss. Sometimes she's like glorious and other times you're like, [woah]. That's her thing." The Southern Charm newcomer remarked, "She's like a Sour Patch Kid, you never know what you're going to get." Leva added, "She's very authentic with her fashion, because you never know what you're going to get. You're in the nail salon and she's in a dominatrix outfit and you're like, 'What's happening?'"

In November 2019, Kathryn told Page Six, "I really wanna do the clothing stuff," referring to a career in fashion design. She wouldn't be the first reality TV star to pursue fashion as a career path, but she shouldn't expect Leva to buy up everything she designs.
