Kate Winslet Wishes She Hadn't Filmed This Titanic Scene
We all know Kate Winslet from classic movies like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Finding Neverland, Revolutionary Road, and The Reader, for which she won her first Academy Award in 2008. Despite her stacked resume and six additional Oscar nominations, her role in Titanic is arguably her most iconic.
The then-21-year old actress landed the role of a lifetime playing Rose DeWitt Bukater, a rich young woman who falls in love with a poor artist named Jack Dawson (played by the incomparable Leonardo DiCaprio) aboard the RMS Titanic. The film, directed by James Cameron, is the fifth-highest-grossing film globally when adjusted for inflation, according to CNBC. In addition to a second Oscar nomination, the role earned Winslet a lifelong best friend in DiCaprio. Winslet told Good Morning America about her bond with DiCaprio, saying, "It's one of those rare Hollywood friendships that I just feel very, very blessed to have." He even walked her down the aisle at her third wedding to Ned Rocknroll in December 2012.

The Titanic scene still haunts Kate Winslet
One of the most memorable scenes from the Best Picture-winning Titanic is when Rose lays naked with only the Heart of the Ocean around her neck and asks Jack to "draw her like one of his French girls". The scene is undeniably iconic, but Kate Winslet told Yahoo! that it "still haunts her". It's not hard to see why; fans still approach her with that infamous drawing and ask the mother of three to sign it, which she refuses to do. "It feels very uncomfortable. Why would you do that?" She continued, "People ask me to sign that [picture] a lot."
So how does Winslet feel about other nude scenes she's had to do? She told V Magazine (via Fashion etc.) in 2011, "I hate it. Listen, make no mistake, I just get on with it. I just go in and say 'Oh f–k, let's do it.' and boom. If you complain about it or procrastinate it's not going to go away. It's a profoundly bizarre thing to do." That nude scene isn't the only thing Winslet regrets about Titanic. She told The Telegraph she despises her American accent, telling them, "I can't listen to it. It's awful. I have a hard time watching any of my performances, but watching Titanic I was just like 'Oh God, I want to do that again.'"
While these revelations may come as a surprise to hard-core Titanic fans, we applaud Winslet for setting boundaries with her fans.
