Strange Things About Robyn And Juan Dixon's Relationship

Robyn and Juan Dixon have mystified The Real Housewives of Potomac fans since they first appeared on the Bravo television show. The two have been dating since they were 16-years-old, per CheatSheet, and stayed together throughout college. Juan was drafted into the NBA in 2002, and they married three years later in 2005. They have two kids: Corey and Carter.

Marriage was tough for the couple, and Robyn and Juan split in 2012, just before RHOP premiered in 2016. This is when things got confusing for fans of the show. The Dixons were still living together and even sleeping in the same bed when the show began. Although viewers questioned their setup, the couple apparently felt that cohabitation was the best choice for their family. Okay, but that didn't stop Robyn's castmates — or fans — from questioning her relationship status. Robyn tried to shed some light on the unconventional situation. "It's hard to explain. It's honestly a bond, a family bond," she told Bravo. "It's about our boys. It's about the history that we have. And it gets frustrating trying to make people understand it, because if you're not in it, you don't understand."

No matter what people said, Robyn and Juan always stood by their decision, and unlike some Real Housewives couples, these two are actually standing the test of time. Let's take a closer look at this duo's dynamic.

Robyn says her relationship was misrepresented

For anyone looking to reunite with an ex, though, Robyn and Juan Dixon's relationship and seemingly strange living situation could actually serve as inspiration. In fact, Robyn told Bravo that much of the scuttlebutt about their situation was the result of Juan just not being all that into putting his life on television. Things may not have been as bizarre as they seemed to fans watching The Real Housewives of Potomac

"I hated Season 2 and how people perceived him because I feel like when the cameras were around, he just wasn't in the mood to film. And it came through and that was the perception that people had of him," she told Bravo. "So I really love that he kind of watched himself back from Season 2 and he was like, 'Oh yeah, OK, I see, I get it. Like, let me act like myself ... rather than being annoyed with the cameras ... It took him a while to grasp that and to get comfortable with that."

That epiphany seemingly changed everything for them because by the beginning of Season 6, Juan was planning to propose to Robyn. They're planning to get married again as soon as possible, per Bravo. This couple is definitely a reminder to never judge someone else's relationship, given that what may seem weird to outsiders could be wonderful for those on the inside.
