The Truth About Josh O'Connor's Girlfriend

The Crown Season 4 dropped on Netflix in November 2020, taking viewers into Prince Charles and Princess Diana's tumultuous relationship. As the show has caught up to the more recent chapters in the royal family's life, the palace is reportedly none too pleased with the portrayal of their personal affairs. According to The Daily Mail, an insider shared that the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William is particularly upset. "He feels that both his parents are being exploited and being presented in a false simplistic way to make money," the source said. "In this case, it's dragging up things that happened during very difficult times 25 or 30 years ago without a thought for anyone's feelings."

The good news is that, while there's plenty of on-screen romantic drama, at least one actor who plays a member of the infamous love triangle formed by Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, and Princess Diana is happily coupled up in reality life. In fact, Josh O'Connor, who plays Prince Charles, moved to East London in 2019 with partner Margot Hauer-King — and he believes he may have found "the one," per The Daily Mail. "He's a very private guy, so this is a big deal," a friend of his told the outlet. "It's serious." Here's everything we know about Josh O'Connor's girlfriend.

Margot Hauer-King is a rising star in the advertising world

Like her significant other, Margot Hauer-King has an impressive résumé. According to her LinkedIn page, she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in comparative literature and political science from Brown University. After graduation, she harnessed her heavy-hitting academic background to land a fellowship with creative giant WPP in 2015, later advancing to strategic partnership director within the company (via Your Tango). It was this role that attracted serious buzz within the industry, even nabbing Hauer-King a spot on The Drum's 50 under 30 outstanding women in the creative and digital fields.

From 2016 to 2017, Hauer-King honed her talents as a consultant for WPP's Government Practice. Then, in 2020, she took a leap by joining BeenThereDoneThat, a thriving Growth Stage start-up that's built around a global community of 180 creative strategists. Hauer-King credits some of her career success to a hunger for knowledge and advises industry newbies to relentlessly exercise their curiosity. "Be insatiable: stubbornly curious," she told The Drum. "Go on an unlimited listening tour and speak to everyone in the industry."

Margot Hauer-King has famous family members

For anyone who's unaccustomed to the glare of the spotlight, dating someone famous can come with plenty of drawbacks. Luckily, while Margot Hauer-King is not an actor herself, she has two well-known family members — her father, Jeremy Hauer-King and brother Jonah Hauer-King — so she is somewhat accustomed to the pressures of fame. According to Your Tango, Jeremy is one half of Corbin & King (with Chris Corbin), the company behind some of London's most stylish eateries, including The Wolseley, The Delaunay, the Beaumont Hotel and Brasserie Zedel.

Per Your Tango, Margot's younger brother Jonah is an actor who starred as Laurie Laurence in the 2017 mini-series adaptation of Little Women, and appeared in previous films including A Dog's Way Home and The Last Photograph. He's also set to star as Prince Eric in the upcoming live-action remake of The Little Mermaid. Looks like the acting apple does not fall far from the tree, as both Margot's mother Debra and sister Hannah are theater producers. Debra and Jeremy, however, split in 2005, according to The Daily Mail.

What's next for Josh O'Connor and Margot Hauer-King?

According to an insider at The Daily Mail, Josh O'Connor and Margot Hauer-King are notoriously private about their relationship. It's certainly true that pictures of the pair on social media are few and far between! Still, the couple took a big step when they moved into an East London flat together in 2019, and things between them seem to have grown increasingly serious.

When discussing his girlfriend and whether or not he's ready to have kids, O'Connor told The Standard in 2019 that he would "definitely like to have kids at some point, but I don't want to have kids right now." At the very least, he does have an idea about what he wants his future to look like, and "it's nice, in the country, with fires and ... toast," the star told The Standard. We guess only time will tell whetherHauer-King is included in that picture, too!
