The Real Reason Ollie Williams Left Love Island
Millionaire Ollie Williams joined Love Island in 2020 in hopes of finding the girl of his dreams. According to him, that would be someone who is "blonde, athletic and funny," as reported by Capital FM, the United Kingdom's top radio station. It made sense, then, that he immediately coupled up with blonde beauty Paige Turley (who previously dated Lewis Capaldi) upon entering the villa. After a whole three days in the villa, though, Ollie packed his bags and headed home, while Paige went on to win the season.
Ollie described himself as an alpha male according to Capital FM. "Wherever I go, I boss the room, I boss whatever I'm doing. I'll be the butt of all jokes but I'll also be the one to make all of the jokes," he said. "I'm attention seeking and I like to be the centre of what is going on at the time." It is ironic that Ollie said this about himself, considering he did not seem to be the boss of his own emotions during his stint on the hit reality series. In fact, he only stayed on the island for three days because his heart seemed to be elsewhere. Keep reading for the real reason Ollie Williams left Love Island.
Ollie Williams left Love Island because his heart wasn't in the game
Ollie Williams kicked himself off Love Island because he forgot to pack something important: his heart. During his 72-hour stint on the show, he came to terms with the fact that he was madly in love with his ex-girlfriend Laura Nofer. In a confession to his fellow contestants, Ollie explained that he needed to be honest with everyone at the villa. "I have to follow my heart in this scenario and it would be wrong for me to ignore these feelings," he said. "At the end of the day, this is Love Island and it's about finding love. If I carried on anything with Paige [Turley], or any other girl that might come into the villa, it wouldn't be fair on them" he added (per Daily Mail).
Ollie then uncoupled with Paige, left the resort, and immediately called his ex-girlfriend to have a heartfelt conversation. According to Ollie, the two have discussed engagement and plan to move to London together. "I now realize that Laura is the girl I want to marry. I'm so grateful she has taken me backI" he said. "I can't wait to start a life with her."
Well, it looks like Love Island 2020 produced four winners: Paige, who won the £50,000 grand prize with Finley Tapp, and Ollie and his girlfriend, Laura. Who knows, maybe they can get together for a Love Island double date!
