The Real Reason Victor Cruz And Karrueche Tran Split
Victor Cruz and Karrueche Tran have split up, E! News reported in February 2021. The bi-coastal duo began dating in 2017, and some might be wondering whether the coronavirus put too much strain on the long-distance relationship.
The two took social-distancing to a new level in 2020. Cruz quarantined in New Jersey to be near his young daughter Kennedy, while Tran hunkered down at home on the west coast, E! News reported. Cruz, a former NFL player, now working for E!, has a busy schedule, and Tran is one of the stars of the tv hit, Claws. A source close to the couple told E! News, "Right now, they are focused on continuing to grow their successful careers. There are no hard feelings. This is just a case of two people moving forward in life separately."
Of course, the two did their best to make it work, with Cruz telling Page Six in April 2020 that they talked "20 hours a day on FaceTime." So how did things go south? We take a closer look below.
Victor Cruz struggled during the pandemic
Victor Cruz and Karrueche Tran broke up after three years of dating. The exes haven't addressed the split in their own words as of this writing — however, Cruz did open up about having a "bit of a breakdown" stemming from pandemic isolation. Cruz told Page Six, "Just mentally, you kind of go through these phases of, like, indecisiveness and ... 'What's the future going to look like? Thank God for my close friends, my circle, my people around me, because they kept me focused in times that seemed uncertain or when I needed somebody to talk to," he shared.
Although the pandemic challenged her former boyfriend, Tran seems to be (at least publicly) doing OK. TMZ caught up on Feb. 5, 2021, with the Claws actor, who "was all smiles underneath her mask during what appeared to be a fun night out with her lady friends."
