Why Jonathan Scott Turned Down The Bachelor

Property Brothers star Jonathan Scott would be perfect for The BachelorHe's comfortable in front of the camera, he's handsome, and he's not married. Jonathan and his twin brother Drew remodel dream homes on their HGTV series, so finding a dream wife on a reality show would seemingly be a natural choice.

Let's not forget that Jonathan would be a wealthy bachelor! Jonathan and Drew have turned their HGTV series into a collection of furniture and home products sold at Lowes, Wayfair, and QVC. The brothers are growing their home decor brand quickly, with House Beautiful reporting that the TV twins created a wallpaper collection during the 2020 pandemic.

It's no wonder ABC wanted Jonathan to become the next bachelor — but he apparently turned them down. Us Weekly reported that Jonathan turned down the series four different times. The Property Brothers star told Us Weekly that the show would give him way too much anxiety. Jonathan confessed, "I cannot. That is absolutely not me."

But that's not the only reason Jonathan turned down a chance to star on The Bachelor. Keep reading to find out more!

Jonathan Scott already has a leading lady

Jonathan Scott has turned down a chance to star on The Bachelor not just once but four times! Wooing women on a reality show isn't his bag, but that's not the only reason Jonathan doesn't want to be on the series. Even though he is not married, Jonathan has already given his heart to actress Zooey Deschanel.

According to People, the lovebirds met on Carpool Karaoke's set and began dating in August 2019. Their relationship grew more serious, and the couple moved in together. Deschanel is twice divorced and shares two children with her ex-husband Jacob Pechenik. The Property Brothers star, his girlfriend, and her children happily live together in Los Angeles.

Jonathan posted on Instagram for Deschanel's birthday on Jan. 17, 2021. The HGTV star wrote, "You are caring, talented, hilarious, sweet and just as beautiful on the inside as you are on the outside. I know we can't celebrate like we did last year, but I have a few surprises up my sleeve." Looks like Jonathan didn't need ABC's help to find The One.
