90 Day Fiance: What Blake And Jasmin's Relationship Is Like Today
The casting directors behind hit TLC series 90 Day Fiancé sure know how to find the most cringeworthy couples. While long-distance lovers may be a dime a dozen, the unique circumstances that 90 Day stars endure are what make the reality romance drama one of the biggest franchises on TV.
Season 7 couple Blake Abelard and Jasmin Lahtinen seemed like another divorce in waiting. The engaged couple were mismatched from the start: easygoing Los Angeles resident Blake struggled to find common ground with high-maintenance Finnish model Jasmin. Most of their arguments ended with Jasmin storming off, while Blake's burgeoning music career added further strain to Jasmin's influencer aspirations. So how did their love story begin?
Blake first encountered Jasmin through a dating app, yet she improperly listed L.A. as her home. Her successful sister Janet did in fact live only a few blocks away from Blake, but he traveled to Finland multiple times before proposing to Jasmin. The couple got to know each other better living at Blake's parents' house, but their differing lifestyles made fans question whether their relationship was real or not, per Distractify. Blake and Jasmin Abelard are surprisingly still going strong
90 Day Fiancé alumni Blake and Jasmin Abelard are still married and seem to be doing quite well in fact! Jasmin's influencer dreams are coming true with 155k Instagram followers as of February 2021 and a joint YouTube channel with husband Blake. The lovebirds are even talking kids!
Per In Touch Weekly, Blake said expanding their family "will happen" but they are not actively trying yet. They did, however, welcome a kitten named Oliver in April 2020! So why all the drama on screen? Well, let's just say both Blake and Jasmin have some qualms with how they were portrayed. "I'm not gonna say, 'Oh, this is completely false.' But, you know, there are things that have been exaggerated that made it seem worse than it was, or worse than it is," Blake explained on the Domenick Nati Show in June 2020. "So it just seems like...she hates my music, she's using me, and she just wants to be with her sister. But the stuff that was actually cool and loving and nice, you know, [viewers] missed."
Jasmin even called the show "fake" and said that she was "acting," according to Cheat Sheet. Regardless, the couple are slated to appear on Discovery+ 90 Day spinoff series Love Games. Seems Blake and Jasmin found their happily ever after after all!
