Whether you're a fan of the flicks or not, there is no denying that the Twilight movie series ruled the late '00s. Twilight's vampire/human love story helped kick off the mainstream vampire trend that spanned the following decade, and a lot of people flocked to the cineplex to see how each chapter of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen's romance would unfold. (And we aren't kidding when we say "a lot"; as Forbes noted, the Twilight franchise raked in a serious amount of money.) Twihards got an even bigger treat when the real Bella and Edward took their love off screen. Actors Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson dated for more than three years before breaking up in 2013; their actual love story didn't last forever like Edward and Bella's did.
During their both on and off screen romance, they were the "it couple." Fans were so obsessed with everything Stewart and Pattinson did, that they even came up with the ship name "Robsten" for the duo. And despite their split, some diehard fans still have entire accounts dedicated to their erstwhile romance.

Twilight star Kristen Stewart can't wait to pop the question
Ever since Kristen Stewart stole our hearts as Bella Swan, fans have wondered about who she's dating. Stewart entered into a relationship with Twilight co-star Robert Pattison in 2009, and he was, as she said on a 2019 episode of The Howard Stern Show, her "first love." But amid her relationship with Pattinson, rumors started to swirl around that Stewart cheated on Pattinson with her Snow White & The Huntsman director Rupert Sanders. As TooFab noted, Stewart told Howard Stern that she was "really young" and "made some mistakes," but it seems like there's no bad blood between herself and Pattinson. She even called him "the best."
Stewart, who has come out as bisexual, has been in a few other high-profile romances since the Robsten era. From 2017 to 2019, she was in an on-again, off-again relationship with model Stella Maxwell. But that all stopped in 2019 when Stewart met screenwriter Dylan Meyer (as far as we know there's no relation to Twilight author Stephanie Meyer). Page Six reported that the two were first seen smooching out in public in August 2019, and ever since then, Meyer has shared adorable photos of them on her social media pages. And it seems like Meyer may be "the one" for Stewart. In the aforementioned interview with Stern, she revealed she "can't f****** wait" to propose to her girlfriend.
Robert Pattinson keeps this post-Twilight relationship on the down low
Along with being a well-respected actor, Robert Pattinson has also become one of the most sought after men in Hollywood. As HollywoodLife noted, after his relationship with Kristen Stewart, Pattinson was reportedly linked to a number of celebrities, such as Katy Perry and FKA Twigs. HollywoodLife also reported that Pattinson and FKA Twigs even got engaged after just months of dating. The two ended up splitting up in 2017 with a source telling the outlet that their "very busy schedules" were the main reason why the two never made it to the altar.
Shortly after his romance with FKA Twigs ended, Pattinson started dating model Suki Waterhouse. The couple was first spotted in July 2018, when E! News obtained photos of them hanging out together. And although Pattinson and Waterhouse didn't officially confirm the romance at the time, a source told Us Weekly that they'd already "been dating for months." The two continued to be photographed out and about together over the years without saying much about their relationship in interviews. In September 2019, a photographer posted a rare photo of the two of them, confirming they were still together. And while the duo has been at the center of engagement rumors, endured a COVID-19 diagnosis, and have been together for years now, they still remain tight-lipped about their romance. The privacy seems to be working for them though, so all the power to them!
Twilight's Taylor Lautner found love outside the spotlight
While Taylor Lautner's Twilight character didn't end up winning Bella's heart, his actual love life has been under a microscope ever since he shot to fame. And since his Jacob Black days, Lautner has dated quite a few A-listers. As J-14 noted, "there [have] been rumors that he's been in relationships with Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, Lily Collins, Ashley Benson, Olivia Holt, Billie Lourd and more." But while Lautner may or may not have dated his fair share of starlets, he found true love outside the Hollywood scene.
In October 2018, Lautner went Instagram official with his current girlfriend Tay Dome. According to her Instagram page, Dome is a registered nurse and lifestyle influencer. For their Instagram debut, the two dressed as members of the Space Jam Tune Squad for Halloween and looked absolutely adorable. And they've stayed adorable. In December 2020, Dome shared a selfie she snapped with Lautner and wrote, "I undoubtedly have the best boyfriend ever." And on New Year's Day 2021, Dome posted some photos she and Lautner took together while hiking. "My favorite part of every year," she wrote. These two really couldn't be cuter!
Ashley Greene found lifelong love just like her Twilight character
As Twilight fans know, Ashley Greene's character, Alice Cullen, was married to Jasper Hale. In real life, Greene has also found the "love of her life." According to People, Greene started dating Australian TV host Paul Khoury in 2013. The two got engaged in December 2016 and at the time of their engagement, Greene took to Instagram and wrote, "I can't wait to show you my unfaltering immeasurable love for the rest of our lives. #engaged #loveofmylife." Brides reported that Greene and Khoury got married in July 2018 in San Jose, California in front of a bunch of other celebs.
The two seem to be super happy, and they constantly gush about each other on social media. When it came time to ring in 2021, the husband and wife shared their New Year's on Instagram. And when they reached their second wedding anniversary in 2020, Khoury took to Instagram and wrote, "You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is better than your dreams. 2 years ago you made me the happiest man in the world! Love you my wife! @ashleygreene." Looks like a Twilight level love story is totally possible in real life too!
Nikki Reed of Twilight married someone from another vampire series
While Nikki Reed's character Rosalie Hale always envied Bella Swan's ability to have a baby, Reed actually has a daughter of her own in real life. Reed is married to fellow actor Ian Somerhalder... who also happens to be a (fictional) vampire, too. Somerhalder played Damon Salvatore on the show The Vampire Diaries, which premiered a year after the first Twilight film was released. As Us Weekly recalled, Reed and Somerhalder got together in 2014 and had a "whirlwind romance," noting that the two got engaged "just six months after they started dating." A source told the publication, "They were friends before, the groundwork had been laid before. They had always been attracted to each other, but always in another relationship. It may seem quick, but they knew it was right."
The couple was so sure about their love, that they tied the knot in April 2015, just a few months after getting engaged. I guess the saying "when you know, you know" really rang true for these two! They eventually became a family of three: Reed and Somerhalder welcomed their first kid together in July 2017. Reed really is living out Rosalie's dream.
Twilight heartthrob Kellan Lutz settled down with his 'soulmate'
As soon as Twilight hit the big screen, fans swooned over Emmett Cullen (and many still do). So, what's Kellan Lutz up to these days? (Well, aside from telling Entertainment Tonight that he and Miley Cyrus never actually dated, contrary to what an Us Weekly report from 2013 led many to believe, that is.) You better believe he's enjoying married life.
In 2018, Lutz told Us Weekly that he has an "old school" approach to relationships, which meant that he and his wife, TV and podcast host Brittany Gonzales, "didn't live together until [they] got married." According to Brides, the two kept their engagement private for the most part, but announced they were married in November 2017. A couple months after their wedding, Lutz took to Instagram to share some wedding pics and wrote, "It was an amazing 2017 mainly because I got to marry my soulmate and the love of my life."
In 2019, Lutz and Gonzales announced they were expecting their first child together. In November of that year, they unfortunately shared the tragic news that they lost the baby. Alongside a black and white photo, Gonzales wrote, "Our sweet girl went to heaven and I delivered a baby at 27 weeks I'd never get to meet." In September 2020, the couple announced on Instagram that Gonzales got pregnant again.
Jackson Rathbone of the Twilight series is a family man
Jackson Rathbone, who Twilight fans know as Jasper Hale, ended up meeting his wife right around the time of the final film. According to People, Rathbone started dating blogger Sheila Hafsadi in 2011, and the couple welcomed their first child together in July 2012. By October 2013, the two were married and Rathbone gushed about his wife to People saying, "It was one of those things. I always said I believed in love at first sight, but I never really had that feeling before."
The couple now have three children, and Hafsadi blogs about their family on her site Six + Boe. Looks like Rathbone, who continues to work as an actor, found the real life Alice to his Jasper!
And while Rathbone and Nikki Reed played adoptive siblings in the Twilight films, they've actually become so close in real life that Reed is the godmother of Rathbone's firstborn. In September 2012, Rathbone took to Twitter to share a photo of Reed with his kid. "Lil' Monroe VI with his Godmother @NikkiReed_I_Am," he wrote. "Adorable."
Peter Facinelli got engaged after the Twilight movies
While filming the Twilight movies, Peter Facinelli had seemingly found the Esme to his Carlisle, as he was married to fellow actor Jennie Garth. But unfortunately, it wasn't a lifelong romance for Facinelli and Garth, as they split up in 2013 after about a dozen years of marriage. Facinelli spoke to LaPalme Magazine (via People) about going through a divorce with three daughters in the picture. "As long as mom and dad are happy, the kids are happy," he told the magazine. "Anyone going through a breakup should know, kids need to see mom and dad happy. As long as they know they're happy, they know they will be okay."
And since his split with Garth, Facinelli had other relationships in the spotlight. At one point, he was engaged to actor Jaimie Alexander, but in 2016, E! News reported that they split and decided to "remain good friends." A few years later, Facinelli got engaged again, this time to girlfriend Lily Anne Harrison. According to Entertainment Tonight, Facinelli and Harrison began dating in September of 2016, which was around six months after he split from Alexander. After over three years together, People reported that Facinelli and Harrison got engaged in late 2019 during a trip to Mexico. Both Facinelli and Harrison shared photos from the special night on Instagram with Facinelli, writing, "A Magical night with this incredible woman. A Perfect ending to 2019."
Twilight star Booboo Stewart found his very own leading lady
Before you got to know him as Jay from The Descendants and Warpath from X-Men: Days of Future Past, Booboo Stewart appeared in the Twilight film series as Seth Clearwater. He had a significant role in three of the films as a member of Jacob Black's shapeshifting werewolf pack. And in real life, Stewart seems to be creating his own pack with his girlfriend Valentina Cytrynowicz, a musician who goes by Valentina Cy.
It's unclear exactly when these two started dating, but Stewart first appeared on Cytrynowicz's Instagram page in April 2020, when they starred in a music video together. Since then, the two have both shared tons of their sweet couple moments on social media. On Stewart's birthday, Cytrynowicz even referred to him as "my love." Stewart also frequently promotes Cytrynowicz's music to his millions of Instagram followers.
And before dating Cytrynowicz, Stewart was linked to dancer Megan Serena Trainer— no, we're not talking about the pop star Meghan Trainor. Trainer was a dancer in the Descendants movies, and Stewart played one of the descendants in the films. According to Distractify, the two apparently split around 2017, but it seems like they are still on good terms: Trainer continued to post on social media with Stewart, even after their reported breakup.
Twilight actor Michael Sheen has a sweet relationship with his girlfriend
While the leaders of the Volturi are extremely intimidating and intense, Michael Sheen, who plays Aro in the Twilight films, couldn't be less like his character. (That's acting for ya!) He's charming and hilarious, he's got a big beard, he's in a sweet relationship with his girlfriend, and he's a dad. A far cry from the menacing leader of a vampire coven. As one Twitter user wrote, "omg you're telling me Michael Sheen played ARO IN TWILIGHT ... I just saw his IG and you would never know it lookin at that man now."
Sheen first appeared on girlfriend Anna Lundenberg's Instagram page in May 2019, and he's been a staple of her account ever since. In July of that year, Lundenberg announced on Instagram that she and Sheen were expecting their first child together. Alongside a pregnancy pic, she wrote, "The universe has led me to where I am right now (with a bunch of active choices on me and my partner's behalf, too, obviously) and I am truly excited, terrified, thrilled, comforted and completely in love with what's ahead."
By September 2019, the two actors welcomed their daughter Lyra. While Sheen isn't active on social media, Lundenberg has continued to post adorable photos of Sheen and their baby girl, calling him, "the most incredible father this little ladybug could have asked for."
Cam Gigandet of Twilight is in a long-term relationship
The Twilight character James sure put viewers on edge, but Cam Gigandet's real life couldn't look sweeter. In the Twilight world, James was all about literally hunting Bella Swan, but in Gigandet's world? The actor is all about hanging out with his family and taking cute photos.
Gigandet has been with actor Dominique Geisendorff for over a decade. He first appeared on her Instagram page in 2012, but according to In Touch Weekly (via MTV), the two welcomed their first child together back in 2009. Since then, they've had two more children together, making them a family of five. Gigandet and Geisendorff frequently appear together on social media, but they haven't gone public with their official marital status. Some outlets like Daily Mail refer to them as husband and wife, but People calls Geisendorff Gigandet's fiancé. Either way, it seems like these two are in it for the long haul and we love seeing all the photos of their adorable family!
Twilight actor Bryce Dallas Howard married her college sweetheart
Diehard Twilight fans know that the character Victoria was played by two different actors in the films. She was initially portrayed by Rachelle Lefevre, but by Eclipse, Bryce Dallas Howard had taken over the role. And as fierce and intense as Victoria is, Howard couldn't seem more opposite in real life. As her Instagram shows, she loves coloring, reading, spending time with her kids — oh, and taking selfies with her famous dad, Ron Howard.
And her real life love story might be cuter than any Twilight storyline (sorry Edward and Bella). Bryce revealed during a 2007 interview with Vulture that she and her husband Seth Gabel are college sweethearts. The two met at New York University, got married in 2006, and now have two kids. She regularly shares throwback photos from their wedding day and college days, and all these years later, they seem as happy as can be.
