What Meghan Markle Has To Say About Kate Middleton

It has long been rumored that Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton apparently don't get along. From the moment Prince Harry began dating Meghan, many have wondered how his brother, Prince William, and his sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, would feel about the relationship. The media pitted Meghan against Kate fairly early on, and at one point, even brought Harry and William into it — making Cambridge vs. Sussex headline news on a regular basis (via Insider).

Now, with Meghan set to sit down with Oprah Winfrey for one of the most highly-anticipated interviews in years, many are wondering if Kate will be brought up. According to a source cited by E!, the royal couple will reportedly discuss their "tension" with the royal family in their "candid" chat with the media mogul. So, does this mean that Meghan will spill the tea on the duchess' supposed rift? Will she reveal her true feelings about her sister-in-law? Anything and everything is possible, but at least one source claims that Meghan and Kate's relationship is not as bad as you might think. The two women certainly aren't the best of friends, but maybe the reported hatred doesn't actually exist — at least, not to the extent that the media would have you believe.

Will Meghan Markle choose a 'nuclear option' when discussing Kate Middleton?

Meghan Markle has no need to hold back in her tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, which is why there is some fear that she may choose the so-called "nuclear option" and discuss her alleged rift with Kate Middleton in depth, an insider cited by The U.S. Sun claimed. "She has the power to lay bare just how bad things really were between her, Harry, William and Kate," the source went on to explain. As for how the Cambridges feel about Harry and Meghan's upcoming tell-all interview, the duo are reportedly "utterly aghast" and "appalled," per Us Weekly.

However, someone with direct ties to the Oprah interview alleged to Page Six that the Duchess of Sussex didn't have a bad word to say about her sister-in-law. In fact, she and Prince Harry reportedly had only "kind words" to say about Kate and Prince William, according to the source.

During the Sussexes' chat with the media mogul, Meghan is reportedly expected to discuss the relationship that she has with her father, Thomas Markle — or lack thereof — according to Page Six. She will likely also be asked about her second pregnancy (via People), which she and Harry announced on Valentine's Day 2021. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's interview with Oprah Winfrey is set to air on Sunday, March 7, at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
