Harry And William Are Finally Ready To Talk

Royal fans are still reeling over Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's bombshell tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, and now, many want to know what this means for the duke's relationship with the royal family moving forward... specifically his brother, Prince William. According to People, Harry said that while his bond with grandmother Queen Elizabeth II is "really good" and that he's spoken to her more in the last year than he's done "in many, many years," the same cannot be said about his relationship with his older sibling. After claiming that William is "trapped" in the system with no way out, Harry told Oprah the two — who were once very close — need "space at the moment," adding, "I love William to bits. He's my brother. We've been through hell together. But we are on different paths."

A few days after the tell-all, a Sky News reporter asked William to respond to the interview and reveal whether he's spoken to Harry. "No, I haven't spoken to him yet, but I will do," he replied. Keep scrolling to find out how the brothers reportedly plan to finally mend their bond and the family's royal rift.

The brothers are reportedly on speaking terms

Prince William and Prince Harry have been growing apart for quite some time, with rumors of a royal rift between them circulating for years now. Despite being very close as children and throughout most of their adulthoods, things seem to have changed between them — particularly after Meghan Markle was introduced to the family (per Us Weekly). Things got worse from there with reports suggesting the brothers didn't speak to each other for two months after Harry and Megan announced that they were stepping back from the royal family. At the time, Finding Freedom author Scobie Durand said (per the Daily Mail): "That's really going to take some time to heal. I think the distance between the brothers grew wider and wider." Based on the Duke of Sussex's comments during his Oprah Winfrey interview, this is exactly what they did: They gave each other "space."

But a source told Page Six they're finally ready to talk as "they have opened communication channels." It's unclear when this conversation will happen, but it appears as though the brothers are, in fact, on speaking terms.
