Princess Anne Proves She Is The Hardest Working Royal
Princess Anne likes to keep her agenda full. The Princess Royal and Queen Elizabeth II's second child and only daughter is well known for staying busy, having been named the hardest working royal three consecutive times, as Vogue has pointed out.
In 2020, Anne, who turned 70 in August of that year, carried out 148 public engagements on behalf of her mother in 145 days, beating both Prince Charles, who came in second, and Queen Elizabeth, who was third on the list, according to The International News. In fact, Anne continued to work at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, opting to "continue with her duty," as Hello! Magazine reported at the time.
In 2018, Anne had more public events than Prince William, Kate Middleton, and Prince Harry combined, according to People.
As noted in the Vogue report, Anne began officially representing the monarchy at age 18. Since then, her work has been recognized in the U.K. and abroad. In 1990, she was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by then Zambian President Kenneth Kaunda for her work with Save the Children, according to the report.

Princess Anne was back at work 3 days after grandson's birth
On March 24, 2021, Princess Anne recognized the role of waste and recycling collection workers on the frontline of the fight against the novel coronavirus when she visited the Greater Cambridge Shared Waste Service, People reported. Her public appearance was noteworthy because it took place just three days after the birth of her fifth grandchild and first grandson, the report continued.
"It was nice of The Princess to come and chat about how she was interested in street cleansing and all the crews that work here, who keep the streets clean for us all and have been working hard throughout pandemic," said Ray Frost, a street cleansing operative, as per Hello! Magazine.
Anne's daughter, Zara Tindall, and her husband, Mike Tindall, welcomed Lucas Philip on March 21, People reported. The couple's son and Queen Elizabeth's 10th great-grandchild, according to the BBC, follows sisters Mia, born in 2014, and Lena, born in 2018.
Mike announced the birth on March 24, 2021 on his The Good, The Bad & The Rugby podcast. As People noted, he shared that Lucas was born on the bathroom floor because the couple realized Zara wouldn't make it to the hospital. The midwife managed to arrive at their place in time to assist in the birth, the report continued.
Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip said in a palace statement that they are eager to meet the baby "when circumstances allow," according to Vanity Fair.
