What Maja Radanovic From My 600-Lb Life Is Doing Now

The following article contains mentions of suicide, food issues, and mental health.

The subjects of TLC's My 600-lb Life go through an arduous and very personal process to lose weight and improve their health in front of a national audience. Since viewers go through all of the extreme ups and downs with them, it's only natural to want to follow up with your faves and see if they've kept up with Dr. Now's diet and exercise plan. And one of the series' most moving success stories has to be Maja Radanovic.

Maja appeared on Season 7 of the series after her weight and mental health struggles led to mobility issues and strained relationships. Per The Cinemaholic, the Portland native was born to Serbian parents who divorced when she was young. Maja explained on the show that the divorce led to her feeling and lonely and depressed, and she began using food to alleviate that pain. When she graduated from high school, she was already 400 lbs, according to the outlet, and when she appeared on the show, she weighed in at 689 lbs.

But she really worked hard on the series and by the time she left the show, she had lost 100 lbs and was already feeling more confident about herself and, most importantly, her ability to keep up with the program laid out by the doc. If you were rooting for Maja the whole time, you'll be happy to know that she's seemingly doing really well.

Maja seems to be living her best life since appearing on the series

Judging from all of the selfies and positive affirmations she posts on Instagram, Maja seems to be in a better place than when My 600-lb Life viewers met her. She posts often about her journey, noting that she makes an effort now to get dressed and put on a little makeup to make herself feel better, which is a great little mind trick sometimes. Maja's also very open about her journey. In one caption, she writes that she definitely has bad days and is not exactly where she wants to be, but she knows she's on the right track. In the comments, fans commiserate with her and congratulate her, which must be rewarding for the reality star. In addition to selfies, she also posts pics of her family and the delicious food she's eating — including one very delicious-looking corn salad

So she's doing her very best! But some might say that it's not exactly because of her time on the show, as Maja recently joined a number of other TLC stars in suing the show for damages.

This is why Maja is suing TLC

Maja Radanovic is suing TLC and the production company, Megalomedia, along with other My 600-lb Life subjects.

The lawsuits began when the late LB Bonner's family filed a suit in 2020, alleging, in part, that a production assistant's behavior and comments didn't pick up on warning signs that Bonner was in emotional dress. (He died by suicide in 2018, per People.) They also allege that the production company refused to pay for medical expenses that they were supposed to pay for, among other issues. David Bolton, Gina Krasley, and now Maja are all also suing Megalomedia for similar reasons, per Reality Blurb and TV Shows Ace.

According to Starcasm, Maja claims that because they refused to pay her medical bills as promised, she left the show 100 lbs lighter but very much in debt, too. She also claims that the show cared more about its ratings than helping its "talent," despite it being well known (and sort of the premise of the show), that issues with one's weight and relationship to eating often come with a string of other mental health issues, including depression.

Her suit claims that the production company pushes "unbeknownst participants to the edge of an emotional cliff," according to Starcasm. Whether the allegations are true or not, it is heartening to see Maja taking care of herself and standing up for herself after everything she's been through. Keep it going, girl.
