Kara Bosworth Reveals The Special Meaning Behind Baby No. 3's Name
In April of 2020, Real Housewives of Orange County alum Kara Keough Bosworth and her husband, Kyle, experienced the unthinkable. The daughter of former RHOC star Jeana Keough announced via Instagram that their son, McCoy Casey Bosworth, died shortly after being born, experiencing shoulder dystocia and a compressed umbilical cord during the process. After McCoy's untimely death, the Bosworths donated his organs and tissues to those in need. On April 14, 2020, Kara wrote on Instagram that McCoy "will live forever in the hearts of his loving parents, his adoring sister, and those that received his life-saving gifts."
In the months following McCoy's death, Kara has mourned the loss and posted Instagram photos of her baby son's short time alive. On March 6, 2021, she posted an Instagram photo of McCoy in her arms, marking 11 months since his birth and death. A month later on April 4, Easter Sunday, Kara made a joyous announcement on Instagram: she and Kyle were expecting another child — and soon!
Nearly a week later on April 10, Kara revealed she gave birth to their son in late March and the baby's name has a sweet significance.
Kara Bosworth's new baby's name was inspired by her late son
In an April 10, 2021, Instagram post, Kara announced the birth of her and Kyle's baby son Vaughn Mack Bosworth, who was born on March 31. Accompanied by a photo of little Vaughn, Kara's caption introduced the family's new addition as "Decker and McCoy's baby brother." She also referred to Vaughn's birth as a "new beginning" for her and the Bosworth family.
And the Bosworths embedded a small tribute to their late son McCoy in Vaughn Mack's name. According to Kara's caption, his name means "small/little" and "hope." Not only did Vaughn seem to represent a "little hope" to the family, Mack also seems to be a nickname for McCoy, now given to Baby Vaughn as a middle name. She wrote on Instagram, "It's not lost on us that if we hadn't lost Mack, we'd never know Vaughn. And yet, here he is, an unexpected serendipity. A little hope."
