Inappropriate Outfits Kim Kardashian Has Been Caught Wearing

Famous reality star turned business mogul Kim Kardashian is no stranger to controversy, especially when it comes to her fashion choices. While she's often celebrated for her various fashion successes, she has definitely been guilty of committing a few fashion crimes, as well — specifically during what she refers to as the "BK" years: before marrying Kanye West.

Still, Kim does not have any regrets. Instead she takes those missteps in stride. "I love my worst moments now. I look back and have to laugh; it was so much fun. It was who I was, what I could afford, and what I knew at the time," Kim revealed during a 2019 Q&A sesh with Vogue Arabia.

On the heels of her high profile split from Kanye, however, many are wondering what this new era in her life means for her aesthetically, and whether or not there's a chance history might repeat itself (complete with many a fashion faux pas). TBD, we suppose. But, in the meantime, keep reading after the jump for a refresher course in some of Kim's no good, very bad fashion disasters over the years.

Kim Kardashian loves a good 'naked dress'

It's no secret that Kim Kardashian loves to let it all hang out. In fact, the more she can show off, the better. "I'm kind of shocked that I'm winning a fashion award when I'm naked most of the time," she famously joked upon receiving the influencer award at the 2018 Council of Fashion Designers of America awards ceremony, per InStyle.

Still, the fashion mogul raised a few eyebrows when she took to Instagram to show off a crystal chain mail dress featuring her nearly naked body gifted to her by none other than famous fashion designer Alexander Wang himself. "I can't believe @alexanderwangny took a pic of my body and printed it on this chain mail!!!" Kim gushed in her Instagram stories while modeling the barely-there dress.

Wang also included a crystal scrunchie and matching bag to complete the look along with a handwritten card that read, "Kim! HBD to the most iconic body of our generation. What better way to crystalize it!" That's one serious birthday gift!

Inside Kim Kardashian's 'Kimono' disaster

Perhaps the most inappropriate outfit Kim Kardashian has been caught wearing was a creation of her own making. Enter her infamous shapewear line formerly known as "Kimono."

As reported by The New York Times, backlash was swift with many accusing Kim of cultural appropriation after she announced the debut of her new line of "solutionwear" meant to combat unwanted lumps and bumps. Though her PR team quickly pivoted into crisis mode, issuing a formal statement in which they refuted the cultural appropriation claims and instead maintained that the name of the brand was simply "a nod to the beauty and detail that goes into a garment," the damage was already done and Kim was left with no choice but to scurry back to the drawing board, ASAP.

Alas, the businesswoman eventually settled on a different name for her shapewear venture: SKIMS. "I need a name that really does speak to me the way that Kimono did," she explained about the name change on an episode of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians." "[SKIMS] is easy, it works, it flows. I just know that this is the right thing to do."

One of Kim Kardashian's risky looks was nixed before she even left the house

As it turns out, however, one of Kim Kardashian's most inappropriate looks was nixed before she even had the chance to wear it in front of the masses.

As reported by Insider, on an episode of the talk show "The Real," Kim revealed that her popular 2019 Met Gala dress initially included two strategically placed nipples. "The dress initially, since I was wet coming out of the water, there was nipples attached to it," she explained about the daring choice. But her then-husband Kanye West quickly 86'd that feature citing that it was too inappropriate to be worn in front of their four children. As fans may recall, this particular disagreement played out on an episode of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," though viewers were never privy to Kanye's specific concerns, only that the dress was "too sexy."

"With editing, I'm not sure if we actually put that part into that fight," she explained. "So he was really certain that he didn't want that on the dress and had mentioned it multiple times and that was still on there. So we did have that discussion."

Now that Kim's single, we cannot help but wonder... will her next Met Gala ensemble include anatomically correct details?
