The Truth About Kourtney Vs. Kim's Fights On Keeping Up With The Kardashians
Anyone who has sisters or has been close to a pair of them will recognize the dynamic between Kim Kardashian and her older sister, Kourtney. Throughout the run of "Keeping Up With The Kardashians," fans have watched them grow up together, which has meant a lot of good, giggly nights lounging around one of their massive homes but also a ton of tense, tough moments, that sometimes even lead to actual blows. It's a love-hate sibling dynamic, and Kim and Kourtney's fights have led to major breakthroughs in their relationship as much as they have inspired a ton of internet memes.
The two just have different approaches to life. That was best summed up in a now-iconic moment when Kim lost her $75,000 diamond earring in the ocean while on vacation in Bora Bora. As Kim hysterically cries in search of her jewel, Kourtney blithely walks out of her little hut, Mason in her arms, and deadpans, "Kim, there's people that are dying." It was a sick burn, but also a demonstration of Kourt calling her sister out for her (sometimes) obliviousness to the world outside of their Calabasas compounds.

They have never gotten along
Over the years, Kim and Kourtney Kardashian have fought about literally everything. Whether it's their poker strategy or accusing each other of copying the others' style, these sisters will never stop picking at each other. One of their bigger fights that sets off a chain of even more major fights — and possibly the end of "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" forever — was a 2018 fight the women had over throwing North and Penelope, their respective daughters, a Candyland themed party. Kim, going with the theme, wants to talk about the types of candy that they will have at the shindig. Meanwhile, Kourt wanted to include healthier options. After spotting a bowl of candy at Kourtney's house, Kim instigates the fight, "Call the police! There is candy in here!" Prime sister move.
Kourt objects, saying that the bowl is her only stash, and adds that she doesn't want the chemical and sugar overload to age her kids. Kim retorts, "It's a Candyland-themed party!" Kim retorts. "Yes, that's what the party is about. Candyland. It's not f***ing gluten-free land over here."
It was a wonderful display of Kardashian Problems. At the end of the day, they had a ton of candy at the party, but also an organic ice cream and cotton candy station, BBQ — and yes, some salads, per Kourtney's tweets with fans after the episode aired. But this is just the beginning of the two sisters fighting over their fundamental differences.
Kim made Kourtney cry with this low blow
Kim and Kourtney Kardashian's nastiest fight occurred on "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" Season 15. The season hinged on Kourtney's reluctance to always be filming and "on" for her family, so when Kim asks her to rearrange her schedule for the family Christmas card shoot (something they do every year), Kourt pushes back and asks for adjusted call and wrap times so she can be with her kids. Kim gets defensive, noting that she's doing the card shoot, also has kids, and is moving around her business engagements. "Maybe if you had a business that you were passionate about then you'd know what it takes to run a business, but you don't!" Kim screams. "You're so f*cking annoying."
Then, she goes in for the kill, saying that Kourt should just not show up at all, since no one wanted her there anyway, and finishes her sister off with, "She's the least exciting to look at." For a Kardashian, that's the worst thing one could hear. Kourt, in tears, retorts, "You're a very distraught and evil human being. I don't agree with who you are as a person. We have a disgusting family. I'm ashamed to be related to people like that."
Kourtney later said in a video posted to Kylie Jenner's YouTube channel that she took it very personally at the time, but can now laugh about it. Kim also admitted it was a "low blow." But what about the time they actually came to blows?
Kim and Kourtney got physical
The ultimate Kim and Kourtney Kardashian fight occurred during "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" Season 18. Kim, Khloé, and Kourtney were talking about how Kylie Jenner was too sick to fly to Paris for a photoshoot. Kim notes that no matter how sick she is, she shows up. This is a common thing for Kim, insisting that she works harder than all of her sisters combined. "If I were on my deathbed, I would still show up," Kim said to Kourtney. "Mom is so used to ... me and Khloe, whenever, if we're sick... [Kourtney] you don't care about stuff." Ever since their Christmas card fight, this has been a theme of their fights — that Kourtney doesn't value work as much as the rest of the family, despite running her own lifestyle business, Poosh.
The two started tugging and pushing each other, with the fight hitting such an intense moment that there was foundation from one of them smeared all over Khloé's wall afterward. They eventually made up, but when Kim announced in September 2020 that "KUWTK" would be ending, many fans assumed it was the fact that Kourt had finally gotten her way and got out of shooting, per Buzzfeed, and the rest of the family followed suit. It will be sad to not be able to watch the sisters fight on television, but at least we'll always have the memes.
