Ed Sheeran: I Hit Justin Bieber In The Face With A Golf Club

First things first: Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber are friends. Good friends, actually.

They not only hung out together several times, but they worked alongside one another professionally; Sheeran wrote Bieber's hit song "Love Yourself," which was originally meant for his own album Divide.

So it should come as no surprise that Sheeran and Bieber would get into some pretty big shenanigans. In an interview with The Guardian, the British crooner revealed one fun night in particular when the two got a little reckless.

"We'd been out to a dive bar. He just drank water and I got hammered," Sheeran shared. "Then we went to a golf course, and he lay on the floor and put a golf ball in his mouth and told me to hit it out of his mouth. I was like, 'F**k, I need to aim this properly,' and I swung."

He continued, describing the stomach-churning sound that followed: "And you know in films when someone gets punched, and you hear that fake sound, like a slap? But in real life when someone gets punched, you hear that dull thud, a bit sickening? I heard a sound like the last one."

Thinking back on the moment, Sheeran concluded, "I'd cracked Justin Bieber right in the cheek with a golf club. That was one of those 'What the f**k?' moments."

This isn't the first time Sheeran's got into some drunken antics. He seems to always be looking for a good time—drinking with the cast of Game of Thrones or throwing back espresso martinis with Benedict Cumberbatch.

But recently Sheeran's admitted to cutting back on beer in order to lose weight. In an interview with The Breakfast Club, he revealed that he's lost about 50 lbs. "I cut out beer for a bit, and started exercising, which is quite weird."

Don't worry. If you ever catch Sheeran in a bar, you can still buy him a pint—as he hasn't quit drinking beer for good. Just be careful with what you do after closing time. You don't want to end up with a golf club to the face.
