1000-Lb Sisters Season 3 - Here's What We Can Tell Fans So Far

We are obsessed with TLC's hit "1000-Lb Sisters," which has graced our screens for two seasons, and we're anxiously awaiting the third one. The reality show chronicles the lives of sisters Amy and Tammy Slaton as they've embarked on an astonishing weight loss journey.

While Tammy and Amy are hilarious to watch thanks to their sassy back-and-forth banter, the sisters have also lived through incredible hardship, and their quest to get back to a healthy weight is even more impressive considering what they've been through. But the sisters are also committed to their futures too; Amy eagerly wanted to start a family, and Tammy came out as pansexual. Dreams came true for Amy when her baby boy was born but it was also a huge risk considering Amy had just undergone bariatric weight loss surgery, according to People. With so much to talk about it, we are dying to know all of the details about Season 3. Here's what we know.

When's the release date for 1000-Lb Sisters Season 3?

Amy and Tammy Slaton started out on YouTube with their own channel, per Showbiz CheatSheet. Their channel was such a success that the Kentucky natives got picked up and shared their journey on a reality show. With huge success following reviews of Seasons 1 and 2 of "1000-Lb Sisters," TLC confirmed a third season of the show, according to Deadline.

Alon Orstein, of TLC's Production and Development, told Deadline: "Tammy and Amy Slaton have captivated us with their fun-loving personalities, heartfelt challenges and uplifting victories. We admire their genuine, evolving journeys and we are rooting for them as they pursue paths toward healthier lifestyles."

While a specific release date has not been confirmed, their brother Chris Combs confirmed on social media that they had begun filming Season 3 in early March 2021, per an earlier publication by Showbiz CheatSheet. Tammy and Amy are active on social media, so hopefully they'll drop more hints as we get closer to the day.

Who will be on Season 3 of 1000-Lb Sisters?

What familiar faces are we going to see on "1000-Lb Sisters"? Obviously, fans will be seeing Tammy and Amy Slaton as they continue to track their weight loss journeys. It's also likely that fans will see their brother, Chris Combs, per Showbiz CheatSheet, especially since he's been such a huge source of support to his sisters. We'd also bet that we'll see more of Amy's husband, Michael Halterman, and their son, Gage, according to People. It's no wonder too, since the birth of Gage was a huge event for the couple, and Amy called his birth a "miracle" considering how recently she had undergone weight loss surgery.

It's also likely that we'll be seeing more of their bariatric surgeon, Dr. Procter. He's no stranger to reality shows and actually appeared on TLC's "Family By the Ton," according to Distractify. Hopefully we'll be seeing more of his kindness and tough love.

Overall weight loss: What can we expect from season 3?

We're extra excited for Season 3 of "1000-Lb Sisters" to see the progress that Amy and Tammy Slaton are making on their health journey. Season 2 concluded with a bit of tension in terms of meeting their goals. As Showbiz CheatSheet notes, Amy did reach her weight loss goal and dropped down to 270 pounds by the end of the second season, even after giving birth to her son.

However, Tammy actually gained weight by the end of Season 2, according to the outlet. She had jumped up to 665 pounds but she was honest about what had happened, and at a visit with Dr. Smith, Tammy said: "I mean, sometimes I try to eat healthier, and then other days I'm like, 'What the heck's the point?'"

Season 2 also ended with their brother, Chris Combs, confronting Tammy about her food addiction. We'll have to wait and see if Tammy's attitude towards Chris' comments have changed.
