Dr. David Dao Begins Legal Proceedings Against United Airlines

The legal team representing the passenger who was dragged off of a United Airlines flight is already hard at work.

Dr. David Dao, the passenger who was later identified as a convicted felon, has retained top legal representation to go after the airline, according to TMZ.

Tom Demetrio is one of the lawyers representing Dao. He is the former president of the Chicago Bar Association, who specializes in aviation law. On Wednesday, April 12, 2017, just three days after Dao was forcibly removed from his seat, Demetrio filed documents "asking a judge to order United to retain all videos, cockpit voice recordings, passenger and crew lists, incident reports, police documents related to the incident, and personnel files for the officers involved in removing Dao."

This action is being viewed as the start of a lawsuit against both the airline, and possibly the city of Chicago, since the officers responsible for the violent confrontation were from the Chicago Department of Aviation.

However, a new video of the incident also surfaced on April 12, 2017, which shows the moments leading up to the now infamous "re-accommodation." Dao can be heard telling officers they would have to drag him off the plane and that he would "make a lawsuit against United Airlines."

It looks like the battle lines have definitely been drawn, and something tells us we'll be hearing about this flight for a long time.
