Jennifer Hudson Is In No Rush To Get Married

Despite her nearly nine-year engagement, Jennifer Hudson says she's not in any hurry to get married.

The two-time Grammy Award winner made the reveal during her visit to The Ellen DeGeneres Show on April 26, 2017, after the host inquired about her long engagement to former pro-wrestler David Otunga, 37. When asked why she wasn't in a rush to get married by host Ellen DeGeneres, the bride-to-eventually-be joked that her fiancé "ain't going nowhere."

DeGeneres responded, "You're happy, you're in love—that's all that matters." To which, Hudson, smiling, simply replied, "Yes."

As this marked the Oscar winner's first appearance on the show in five years, Hudson and DeGeneres had a lot to catch up on, including Hudson's recent Grammy win for her role in The Color Purple on Broadway. The singer, 35, noted that she had yet to receive the award and was shocked when DeGeneres exclaimed, "We got it for you!"

"What?!" Hudson cried, as she was handed the golden prize. "Thank you!"

Hudson then made a short, impromptu—albeit belated—acceptance speech: "My first Grammy was given to me by Whitney Houston and now, Ellen, oh my God!"

Earlier in the interview, Hudson noted that she and her longtime partner now share a son together, 7-year-old David Jr. And, by the looks of things, he might already be gearing up to follow in his famous mom's soulful footsteps. In early April 2017, Hudson shared a video of her son on Instagram, crooning out the late Leonard Cohen's hit song "Hallelujah."

"This is so precious to me, I can't even begin to describe how it melts my heart," Hudson captioned the video.

Sounds like things are going well for the Dream Girls (2006) actress.
