The Truth About Charlamagne Tha God's Wife

Love him or hate him, you can't deny that Charlamagne tha God has stamped his place in radio history. With his distinct voice and a penchant for asking outlandish questions, the shock jock has slowly become the voice of a generation. Moreover, as a part of "The Breakfast Club," Charlamagne has taken the nation by storm alongside radio veterans DJ Envy and Angela Yee with their morning broadcasts — often dealing with celebrity gossip, hip-hop's ongoings, and current events.

If you were a fan of MTV in the early 2010s, you probably realize Charlamagne from "Guy Code" as well. If you recall, it was the show that discussed the secret code of conduct between men, and the show that also helped launch the careers of Andrew Schulz, Lil Duval, and Pete Davidson. It was an interesting show that delved into the psychology of manhood, sexual relationships, and more. On the show, Charlamagne acted as an oracle of wisdom — and perhaps it was the same advice he gave that he ultimately used to swoon his wife of several years, Jessica Gadsden.

But wait, did you know that Charlamagne was even married, to begin with?! Indeed he is, so let's take a look at Charlamagne tha God's wife, Jessica Gadsden!

School is Jessica Gadsden's forté

You know, some people just flourish in academia, and it turns out that Jessica Gadsden is one of those people. Gadsden, the wife of Charlamagne tha God, has not one, not two, but three college degrees! The highly educated Gadsden seemingly gravitated toward education throughout her life, as evidenced by her numerous accolades. According to Amo Mama, Gadsden enrolled at the University of South Carolina-Columbia after high school, where she earned a degree in journalism and mass communication.

Gadsden would then take it a step further in her pursuit of higher education. Following her stint at USC, she enrolled at Missouri's Webster University where she earned her Master of Business Administration degree. But the road didn't stop there, as she later enrolled at Bergen Community College and received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology! Gadsden's education also coincides with her career as a personal trainer and fitness coach — but those weren't the only things Gadsden got from her time in school.

It was in high school where Gadsden would meet Charlamagne tha God, and the two would begin an on-and-off relationship (infidelities and all) that would result in three daughters. Despite a decades-long relationship, the two never tied the knot until 2014, when their daughter pressed Charlamagne about it. Per Inquisitr, Charlamagne stated, "You have to show your kids love... When you have your seven-year-old daughter asking why you and mommy don't have the same last name, that affects you as a man."

Charlamagne tha God doesn't 'feel deserving' of Jessica Gadsden's love

A quick gander at Charlamagne tha God's "Breakfast Club" bio aptly describes him as the "Prince of Pissing People Off," the "Ruler of Rubbing You The Wrong Way," and the "Architect of Aggravation" — but a 2018 interview showed off a far different side of the veteran shock jock. In an appearance on "In Session Live with Dr. Jess," when asked if he feels "deserving" of wife Jessica Gadsden's love, Charlamagne swiftly responded, "No, absolutely not."

He continued, "Not even remotely," and noted that he felt undeserving of most things in life. Later in the interview, Charlamagne reflected on the decades-long relationship he's had with Gadsden, stating, "Just the fact that somebody can be down with you for 20 years, you know what I'm saying? Like, that's real love, real friendship. We really been together since we was kids, we watched each other grow and evolve."

Owing up to Gadsden's dedication and hardworking demeanor, Charlamagne told a story of how she essentially was his ride-or-die in the advent of his career. "The first time I ever got a real job in radio, I didn't even have a license at the time," he revealed. "She drove me down to the radio station and we was there, I was filling out an application to be like, in the promotions department or something like that," he continued. And if that's not true love, then we sure as heck don't know what is!
