2017 Tony Nominations: The Great Comet, Hello, Dolly! Lead The Pack

Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812 led the nominations for the 71st annual Tony Awards, earning a jaw-dropping 12 nods overall.

The popular Broadway show, which stars Josh Groban and is based on a small portion of the novel War and Peace, was one of four musicals nominated for the night's biggest prize, Best Musical. It joins Dear Evan Hansen, Come From Away and Groundhog Day, which earned nine and seven nominations, respectively.

Meanwhile, the critically beloved revival of Hello, Dolly! earned an equally impressive 10 nominations, including one for its star, Bette Midler. The show is expected to dominate the category for Best Revival of a Musical, where it will compete against Falsettos and, in a surprise, Miss Saigon.

Over on the play side, A Doll's House: Part 2 topped the nominations with an unexpected eight, including Best Play. Other nominees in that category were Indecent, Oslo and the Pulitzer Prize-winning Sweat.

The 2017 Tony Awards air Sunday, June 11th, 2017, at 8PM on CBS.
