Paris Jackson Lands Her First Feature Film Role
Michael Jackson's daughter is becoming a star in her own right.
The late King of Pop's daughter, Paris Jackson, has been cast in her first feature film role, according to E! News.
She will star opposite an impressive cast that includes David Oyelowo, Charlize Theron, Amanda Seyfried, Thandie Newton, and Sharlto Copley in director Nash Egerton's untitled Amazon project.
According to Deadline, her character, Nelly, is "an edgy 20-year-old," but the film centers on Oyelowo's character who is a "mild-mannered American businessman" who becomes entangled in the Mexican drug scene.
Jackson made her acting debut in March of 2017 on Fox's musical drama Star. In a behind-the-scenes video (via the Daily Mail), she reflects on her positive experience with getting into the entertainment business. "This role is really opposite to me and, for it being my first real on-camera acting, I think it's a good way for me to show my acting capabilities," she said.
"Shooting was a lot of fun! Everybody was so nice," she continued.
2017 has been a year of firsts for Jackson, who also recently signed a contract with IMG Models, a high-profile agency that also represents clients like Gisele Bündchen, Karlie Kloss, Ashley Graham, Hailey Baldwin, and Gigi and Bella Hadid, according to USA Today.
A friend of the "Thriller" singer's daughter told E! News, "If you had to put her priorities in order, it would probably be acting, activism and modeling. She's passionate about all of them."
"Her modeling career is really taking off and you can expect some big announcements coming in the next month or so," the insider added.
On top of all of that, Jackson has also racked up a Rolling Stone cover, her first MET Gala appearance, and the title of Vanity Fair's newest "It Girl" all within the calendar year.
It's certainly a lot, but for Ms. Jackson, it's just the start of what looks to be a promising career.
