Scandal Star Katie Lowes Is Pregnant

Scandal (2012-) star Katie Lowes confirmed on the Thursday, May 11, 2017 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live that she is pregnant with her first child and expecting a baby boy.

"We have zero names," Lowes, who married husband Adam Shapiro in 2012, revealed.

Lowes also revealed that Scandal creator Shonda Rhimes was the first cast or crew member to find out she was pregnant.

"I told her five minutes from being pregnant, she already knew, she's a genius," Lowes said, adding that Rhimes had alreday put two and two together after reviewing clips of Lowes in the editing room.

"[She thought I had a] really good weekend eating pizza and beer or I was pregnant," Lowes quipped.

Scandal is all too familiar with its cast getting pregnant during production; star Kerry Washington welcomed two children in 2014 and 2016, respectively.

ABC recently announced the show will end after its upcoming seventh and final season.
