What Sasha Larin From 90 Day Fiance Does For A Living

The first "modern" reality series, "The Real World," as Newsweek wrote, began airing in 1992. Ever since, fans have been watching real people on TV relentlessly. For viewers of "90 Day Fiance," the best thing the franchise and TLC ever did was arguably creating a slew of spin-off shows to keep everyone happy. Everyone has their favorite couples from the ultra-dramatic dating franchise, as some pairings just don't stop giving us juicy drama. But what about couples who step away from the spotlight and go on to live regular lives?

Reality TV by its very nature lends itself to the idea that these stars must have money stashed in some offshore bank account to live the way they do, right? Except, not all reality TV shows are based in reality. InTouch Weekly reports, in fact, that most of the foreign partners in the "90 Day Fiance" couples who grace our screens each week reportedly can't get paid when they come to America, because they have to wait for a work permit.

Take Emily McCue Larina and Alexander "Sasha" Larin, for instance. The couple appeared on Season 7 of "90 Day Fiance" and have been together ever since. Now married and parents to a little boy, the couple announced early this year that they'd be making a huge move back to Sasha's native Russia. They are one example of a couple who had to patiently wait to have a steady income.

Sasha was holding down two jobs when the pandemic hit

Sasha Larin came from Russia to be with his American fiance, Emily McCue, and had to wait to get a work permit before he could start working. According to Soap Dirt, this happened sometime in early 2020, just before the pandemic hit. That meant that Sasha, who works as a personal trainer during the day and for UPS at night, according again to Soap Dirt, was just getting started when the gym he worked at had to shut its doors. That didn't stop the dedicated father and then-fiance from doubling up on jobs once he was allowed to legally work in the U.S.

Emily McCue Larina, who is now married to the Russian certified personal trainer, praised her husband for his work ethic and motivation. Several posts to her Instagram feed showcase the reality star's love for her husband and all he does to provide for their family. "The man I know is always thinking about how he can be a better provider for our family. ... He's the kind of man who will help others and expect nothing in return."

Sasha might have been waylaid by COVID-19 like so many other workers in America, but that didn't stop him from taking care of his family. When the gym he'd previously worked for opened its doors again, Sasha was back to work, and, indeed, getting ready to move his family.

Russia comes calling

It seems like these "90 Day Fiance" Season 7 stars are ready to settle down in Russia. According to Soap Dirt, there were plans originally to bring Sasha Larin's family to America, but COVID-19 smashed those plans to bits. So, the reality stars decided to pack up their son, David Alexander, and move to Russia.

Thankfully, it should be a transition made easier by the fact that Emily McCue Larina can read and write Russian and was once an English teacher in the country, which according to Soap Dirt, is how she met her now-husband — at the gym. This will also allow the father-of-three to be close to his two sons from previous relationships, which seems to be important to Sasha and Emily, who are working to co-parent Sasha's sons as best they can from America. "If there is a barrier to communicating with his sons in Russia, he sends a smartphone so he can talk to them every day," Emily wrote on Instagram in 2020. "He uses what he earns to provide for us and his family abroad..."

The mother-of-one has been busy trying to get her HR certificate (via Soap Dirt) and is posting updates since purportedly moving. "Take a walk around our region in Moscow with us," she wrote to Instagram on October 10 alongside a video. It seems like an exciting new chapter!
